We are flying from Newcastle to Gatwick on BA, and then onto Orlando using Virgin.

Our flight from NCL gets us into the North Terminal at Gatwick at 08:15, and we aren't leaving on the Virgin flight until 12:30, so I think we should have plenty of time

I have done loads of connecting flights, but not with different airlines - I assume we can still check straight through, and our bags will go through - is that right?

How far is it from the North terminal to the South Terminal?

Is there plenty to keep us occupied from 8 till 12? Sounds like it from Mazzy's post. I could have got the earlier Virgin flight, but I thought it was better to have the extra time just in case of any delays on the newcastle leg.

hi bev

i've not actually had to get a connecting flight at gatwick before but....

there's a monorail between the north and south terminal which takes about 3 mins and puts you near the arrivals hall

you'd need to check with BA / virgin about your luggage though

but once all that is done there's loads to do in the south terminal both before and after security

I have done Leeds - Gatwick with BA & then Virgin to Orlando, on the return Virgin did ask us if we wanted them to automatically transfer our bags onto our connection. So I guess you will be able to do it.

Bev,

We did the NCL to LGW to MCO but it was all with BA and the luggage was transferred automatically. I would ring Virgin and ask them.

We just walked through from the South to the North, its not that far;)

There was plenty to do in the departures to keep everyone occupied..totally different from NCL..:D

I've checked with Bon Voyage, and apparantly the bookings will be linked, even though they are different airlines, so the bags should go straight through.

To pass the time there is some things in the Gatwick Village (before you go to departures) A weatherspoons pub, starbucks, costa coffee, some restaurants & a few shops.
