Confusion about BOG lunch

I see that at lunch BOG is counter-service. Do you HAVE to have an ADR for lunch?? (because they're all gone for the dates we will be there in October). Can you just show up and wait for a table/seat yourself? If so, what would be the best times to try to show up to BOG and not wait forever to eat?

You will more than likely need an ADR. I believe they open at 10:30am for lunch. You can try to see if they'll take walkups, but don't get your hopes up. Just keep checking especially starting at 60 days when onsite guests start booking FP+. Some adrs might open up if people have to cancel because of conflicting times.

They no longer take walk-ups, where people would wait in that line on the bridge. You will need an adr. Keep checking, especially the closer it gets! People cancel and change plans!

Agree with previous poster, walk-ups were being turned away when we were there in April, you needed an ADR and couldn't check in more than 5 minutes early. Note that we got out BOG lunch ADR inside of 60 days. We had some flexibility on park days the end of our trip, kept checking for each of those days and there was nothing, then all of a sudden multiple choices popped up.

When I called AKL cl to give them our requested adrs they told me bog would be difficult to get and then told me they excepted walk ups? (which I believe is false) I said are you sure and the said yes.
