Confusing AAA ?

I have a friend booked under a AAA room only discount. She really wants the dining plan but would like to see if Disney offers some type of package for her dates. Disney told me that she can upgrade to a package at any time. My AAA agent said that is not true because package inventory is separate from room only and there may not be a "AAA Package" available. Does anyone know if this is true? She's going during Thanksgiving, so I don't think she will be able to do better than the AAA package anyway. Any advice?

That is correct the there are seperate inventories for each. If the package rate is available than yes she can upgrade....having the room doesn't guarantee that she will get a package rate.

I would suggest that she get the dining plan now & if something better comes along she could fix it through AAA. This way she's locked into at least the AAA room discount & the dining plan. If she were to get the AAA room discount through Disney & she wanted the dining plan, she'd have to go through AAA anyway. Not sure when the latest she could cancel the dining plan if she decides she doesn't want it, but this is what I would do.

I agree, I don't think there will be any "free dining" packages during that time.
