Just a note to let you know that the closing company has forwarded a copy of the recorded
deed to DVC with the request that they complete the transfer in their system. Please allow
12-14 BUSINESS days for the transfer to be completed. Once the transfer has been completed

Does this mean the file CLOSED?

Yes, not that closing means very much.

Why do you say that closing doesn't mean very much?
Probably because the buyer still has to wait for Disney to load their contract & points into the system and get them their membership number (if it's a new membership). That can take a couple of weeks so the waiting isn't done yet.

But it's still progress, IMO. :)

Closing means you own it. It's probably the most meaningful part of the process. Everything else is just paperwork.

I found the wait after closing to be the least stressful of all. I got my member number and points 2 weeks after receiving the same email by calling.

I'd be happy about this step because it's all yours now and you have many years of fun ahead of you!! Congrats :goodvibes

My thoughts about "closing" is that the word is used in many different ways with DVC.

For resale, closed is when the escrow company closes your file, has sent the deed to the County for recording and sent Disney their required paperwork.
Disney now starts their next steps in the process which can still take a few weeks, final contract review, setting up the DVC account, loading the points into the account, ordering the member cards, setting up your sales file and assigning your Guide.

For direct buyers closing often happens after having made the deposit and booking the first reservation. Disney sets up the account and loads the points in a couple of days, sometimes the next or same day. They then process all of the documents and send the deed to the county.
