Confused..

Be only flew to the US once when I went to NY a few years ago. Then, we flew direct and I remember the longgg wait to clear immigration.

This time when we fly to Florida we are flying indirect (flying from Ireland to Philadelphia and then onto Orlando). So my Q is, will we have to go through immigration twice both in Philadelphia and MCO airport? Or just at Philadelphia?

I believe you clear immigration in Ireland actually and only do it once.

Like PP said, if you go from DUB (Dublin) you should clear US immigration there and arrive at PHL as a domestic passenger (no immigration)

if you don't clear immigration in Dublin or go from another airport, you'll clear US immigration at PHL and arrive at Orlando as a domestic passenger.

No idea but it would be worth double that to avoid the queues at MCO

I've just looked at Shannon's website, and Aer Lingus on preclearance, and couldn't find reference to any fee.

if it's the reference, then I think your airline already hit you with those fees by including it in your airfare.
