Confused!

Ok I've done some searching and this has only led me to more confusion. Hope this is the right place! We rented points for our upcoming stay in June. My questions are:

1) Does the DVC member get our Mickey mail?
2) What happens if I just booked ME last week because we just got our flights? (I booked online through a link I found here.)
3) If we decide to extend our stay and rent from someone else, but we stay at the same resort will we have to change rooms?

The only mail you should get will be the ME booklet. It should come to you, not the member. Usually the ME packet is mailed out 30 days before the trip so you should be fine.

That is pretty short notice to find someone willing to rent points even if there was availability. If you are able to get the same room type at the same resort you could have the reservations linked and it is possible you will not have to move.

Thanks for the info momto3pirates. I know it's short notice but I thought maybe someone might have a few leftover points we could rent. We only need 13 to extend our stay by a day.

You should do everything through the person who you rented from. It's their reservation with your name on it. They should have booked DME for you.

There is no Mickey Mail with DVC except for your ME stuff. The member you rented from should send you the e-mail copy of the reservation.

If you got lucky enough to get points for an extra night, both members would have to contact Member Services to ask that the reservation be linked.

2)You should have booked that through the DVC member you rented from, since they own the reservation.

3)Well, that depends. IF you can find someone willing to rent to you short notice and IF there is even anything of the same room type available at the same resort, then you MIGHT be able to stay in the same room, but at this late date, I'm going to bet you are SOL.

As the other posts have said, unless you are at SSR or OKW, your chances of extending your stay are slim...BUT just in case you are lucky enough to get another night and DO NOT have to change rooms, be prepared for having to check out and check in ...again for that last night.

That means going to the check in desk and checking out and then checking in even though you are not moving rooms. Welcome to one of the "quirks" of Disney Vacation Club. You will get a new room key, etc, etc...

Another question then, many of you said I should've had the DVC member book ME. Should I have them do it now or should I call in and see what's going on with the ME reservation I created? I got an email confirmation for it.
