Confused where to stay

Going to WDW in Apr 06; we're taking my 3 yr old granddaughter, and my two daughters and their hubbys. Dedfinitely want beach oriented surroundings so we can relax "at the beach" to unwind. Have tentatively booked 3 rms at BC. The sandbottom pool and the surroundings look attractive. Four of the six of us will probably spend most time at MK. We think we'll like amenities (pool, atmosphere, etc) at BC but I subsequently thought it may be good to have monorail access to MK. Thought Poly may be a good alternative. But, my wife is concerned that since it's the oldest resort, it may be a bit run down, etc. Our only experience with Disney hotel is the GF several years ago. Was great, but I thought it may be a bit formal for a 3 yr old (and pricey). Any thoughts or guidance as to BC versus Poly

I really think you'd be happy at either the BC. Both are great resorts. The pool at the BC is an attraction in itself! I really enjoyed the lazy river section of it. The rooms are very nice, and the grounds are beautiful. You have a wide array of dining options within walking distance at the Epcot area resorts and the World Showcase at Epcot.

I stayed at the Poly in August of 2003, and we loved it. We were in the Tokelau building, and our room was big and clean. It didn't show any signs of wear. Most of the buildings at the Poly have gone through and extensive renovation in the past couple of years. The Poly has a beach as well, and you can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach, as well as the Electric Water Parade in the evenings.

We stayed at the Yacht Club in November 2003. Our group consisted of me, my husband, my 2 sons (ages 2½ & 4), my parents, and my in-laws. We had the greatest time there. My boys loved the pool and watching Illuminations nightly from our patio. The grandparents loved the proximity to Epcot and MGM Studios. My husband and I just loved it all!

I am truly a Yacht Club gal!

Disneypap--Welcome to the Boards. One thing you'll learn quickly is that most everyone is a firm champion of "their" favorite resort. My advice has always been to try it yourself, so I'd say stick with the BC this time and see how you like it. Why not make a PS for Ohanas at the Poly some evening and then walk around the grounds and see if you'd like it. We've found that to be one of the best ways to see another resort--just make a PS for a meal there.
Relax, enjoy your resort, and know that there's always a next time. We prefer staying at the same resort to build tradition and because it always feels like we're coming home. Since you have your rooms, move on to the fun part--where are you going to eat?? Click on over to the restaurant board and ask away!!
