Confused --what's cheapest tix option?

the special promo you are asking about (2 parks 2 days + 3 free days)
are only available on line.

the question about sharing the adult ticket between you and your husband probably won't work.

i have had to sign the back of my pass many times in order to use it.
the employee looks at the back of the pass for signature then scans it.

gee, if you used only a first initial and had an ID to back it, i guess you could get away with it.

Phamton, what are your thoughts on the Power Pass from AAA online before you leave?

I will never use up the five days but i don't care. ... my Q is, can this be bought at the gate in US or online only? how much more is it to purchase it at the gate?

You can only purchase them online.

Also if i am to purchase the tickets for just my daughter and I , and we go one day to the parks, since there are 5 days to visit the parks, can I pass the tickets over to my husband so he can take a day with my daughter?????

Wow! You are just full of ideas on beating the system. First, you want to share your daughter's all-you-can-eat pass without buying one for yourself and now you want to share your 5 day ticket with your husband. Let me get this straight: it is you, your husband, your 8 year old daughter, and your toddler. You buy a ticket for yourself and your 8 year old gets a free ticket. Your toddler gets in free also because she is under 3 years old. So essentially you've only had to buy one ticket for 3 people. Now you want to give your husband your ticket to use. Just buy him a ticket. The tickets are non-transferable. 'Nuff said.

We had the strangest thing happen this past weekend. I purchased 3 of the 2 day passes (get 3 days free)...got the free kids passes, I dont have any kids young enough, so I figured I would give them away. When the tickets printed at the kiosk, they werent labeled adult and kids tickets. I had all six passes when I got to the gate, I asked the woman which were which? She said it didnt matter, that they were all the same. My husband, daughter and step daughter used these passes for entry....I have an annual pass so I didnt need one of these tickets.

The next day my father and his girlfriend were coming for the day. I gave them two of the other passess and they worked fine. It was kind of a waste, for them to use for just one day, but I figured, what the heck, they were free. (I was planning on buying them one day tickets, but I figured we would try the free ones 1st).

So I guess my question is "Can adults use the free kids tickets?

I am sorry but as I see it I am paying an arm and a leg to go down there to disney and to US, I was asking because wanted to see, what is the harm in saving a little money... and you are wrong the tickets are transferable I called US and asked and they said there was no problem doing it the way I asked.... And no we will not be taking our toddler to US it would just be our 8 yr old, My husband will be watching the child in the villa while i take my 8 yr old then on another day i will be watching my toddler why he takes our 8 yr old. .... I do not appritiate you being rude about my questions. I have never been here before and wanted to ask all the questions as possible, did not want to over pay if there is a possibility of other ways of doing it.

Not one person in our party of 5 was asked to sign their passes on the day they activated the tickets. They could have been used by a different person the 2nd day.

Everyone pays an arm and a leg to vacation in Florida. Wanna save money? Look for bargains or vacation close to home.

I was asking because wanted to see, what is the harm in saving a little money...

You aren't trying to save money. You asked about eating by using your daughter's all you can eat pass. See: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=976179&goto=newpost If you want to save money, just buy an all you can eat passfor both of you. Just don't justify your actions and claim you are trying to save money.

and you are wrong the tickets are transferable I called US and asked and they said there was no problem doing it the way I asked....

Actually, whomever you talked to gave you wrong information. It happens sometime. Call Guest Services at 407 224-4233. Press 9 to speak to a Guest Service co-ordinator. They know the correct information. Don't count on getting correct information from a salesperson.

I do not appritiate you being rude about my questions. I have never been here before and wanted to ask all the questions as possible, did not want to over pay if there is a possibility of other ways of doing it.

Such as finding loopholes? I'm sorry you find my posts rude. Don't expect me to sprinkle pixie dust when you are advocating bypassing the rules of the all-you-can-eat. When people cheat the system, wonderful programs are often discontinued. We all lose then.

On second thought, I did come off harsh in my last posts. I have been sick and off-work for 3 days from a terrible chest cold so I will be the first to admit that I'm grumpy. I do apologize. Now I think I'll take a nap.

Thank you for your responce, I am glad you mentioned they were wrong with saying you can transfer the tickets, thanks for that... so confussing trying to get all the right info on a vacation! I do hope you feel better

Hope you feel better phamton!

And sweet mam shy.....do listen to phamton...she is the guru! :worship:

Well, I feel much better now. Thanks for being so forgiving. As far as using the same tickets, I doubt anyone would catch you but officially they are non-transferable. How's that for a non-commital answer.

And yeshli, the 5 day tickets are parkhoppers so you can go back and forth between the parks as often as you want without using additional days.

phamton, hope you are feeling better.

i don't know about any of you all that have used the passes but for the last 4 years when i go in october, i have had to sign mine.

and when i go into the parks after it is scanned, i have had to sign in on a sheet to match my signature. not every time, but a lot of the times.

when the employees switch at the ticket gate, you will get some that require it.

4 years ago my son and i mixed ours up. i had both in my pocket and just handed him one. i figured what's the difference, it is either his name or mine on one of them. the employee must have had a difficult day and told us we had to use our own passes. no biggie to us, but if it would happen to someone that shared a pass, it could be a problem for them.

universal has the promos at a very good price right now. i am hoping it continues. i try to use all the discounts out there to make my trips possible.

Am I missing something? Why don't more people purchase the Power Pass?

the power pass is like the annual pass but it has black out dates on it.
dates where the pp will not be honored.

also, the pp does not allow for the free parking or discounts for hotels and merch.

i get a better deal with the promos on line and using the AAA for the discounts.

maybe someonelse can add to what i have posted.

Is this ticket offer going to be around for a while? I don't plan on going to US until May and wanted to wait until april to purchase them... but thought that maybe it is a short time offer... any one know?
