Confused: Picking A Resort For 2009!?

I am anticipating the rate release for 2009 and I want to try to book a room right away with an AAA disc (if they're still offering them in 2009!). First I need to make up my mind on where we stay!

We will be going Dec. 4th-13th 2009 which from what I understand is Pop Warner week. :scared1: Our first choice would have been POFQ but isn't that one of the Pop Warner hotels? Our second choice would've been CBR because we really like the themeing but now Im hearing about these Nemo rooms and honestly that is a little less appealing to me. I know CSR and POR get GREAT reviews but the themeing at those are even less apealling.

Then my girls mentioned that Pop looked cool. Is this also a Pop Warner hotel or just the All Sars? It's always been my dream to get back to the Poly (was there when I was 8-30 years ago) so I would consider a split stay between Pop and Poly (don't think a CBR/Poly split is in our budget). I am just concerned a value will be a shock to my family since we have never stayed below a mod.

So to recap: First, I need to confirm the Pop Warner hotels. Then I need to decide whether to stick w/ CBR or do a split w/ Pop and Poly.

You all have such great insight and I would love it if you help me work this through!! TIA!!!:goodvibes

YIKES...what is Pop Warner week? (That is the week in 2009 we are planning to go as well...seems like everyone is choosing those dates!) Should I worry about this pop warner week?

Pop Warner week is when the football players and cheerleaders from the Pop Warner League are in Florida for the youth football championship games.

Traditionally, Pop Warner has had special rates at the All Star resorts and POR/POFQ.

Pop Century has not been one of the preferred (discounted) resorts for Pop Warner to the best of my knowledge. Some families will stay there, but they're paying the same rates as anyone else (rack, AAA, AP or other standard discount), so you won't notice them most of the time.

There was a group--probably most of a team there in 2004. The kids were fine; the parents a bit inconsiderate. The usual mix of guests at any resort! :)

Pop Warner doesn't affect the parks much. They do have a special evening at one of the parks--DHS, I believe--after the park is closed to other guests, but most of the kids are involved in the competitions and are not at the parks much.

Pop Warner week usually begins the first Saturday in December.

I am sort of in the same situation as you. We plan on going August 2009 but I cant decide if we should do CBR for one week,= (since they will have the new pool). The Nemo new rooms dont bother me, to me I would feel better since the rooms are newly refurbished. Or we are going to do the POP for 4 nights and Poly for 3.

You made a good point, the rooms will be refurbished! :goodvibes Honestly we don't spend alot of time in the rooms so it probably shouldn't bother me either, Nemo just seems "young" for my DD's who will be 9 and 12. They were looking at pics of the CBR w/ me tonight and they really loved how it looked....more than any other of the mods. I guess as long as the landscape doesn't change, it would be fine. Definitely psyched about the new pool!

Good luck w/ your decision...I have a feeling I will change my mind 1000 times before all is said and done!
