Hi everone,

Hoping someone can clarify how to figure out how many point you need for rooms. The calculator is under maintenance so I can't use it.

I have 11 people in my party (9 adults, 1child, 1 infant) I'm tring to figure out if it is more cost effective to rent points for a GV or a 1bed & 2bed at OKW or BW.

Can anyone tell me how many points I need to each senario.

Thanks

It all depends on the resort, the type of rooms (view if at BWV), the dates (weekdays or weekends, or both), and the Disney season.

We can't tell you how many points because there are too many variables you didn't give us.

While the point calculator is down right now, the point charts are stilll there and you can compare points directly off the charts once you know your dates.

Or, download my DVC-planner program and plug in your dates. Then on one report screen you can see all the point requirements for every type of DVC resort and villa combination there is, all at once.

Thanks for the info
Great tool! Make is very easy to understand.

One additional consideration. When are you going, what resort were you looking at. GVs are very limited in number and go rather quickly. It might even be more cost effective to get several value resort rooms, get some connected if you need them and go with that.

You need to plan a GV vacation at least a year ahead of time if you are not a member.

At OKW, it is always more cost effective to rent a Grand Villa.
At BWV, it is always more cost effective to rent a one bedroom and a two bedroom.

Since you didn't give us the dates, it would be too unweildy to type out all the different possible scenarios for numbers of points, but the minimum and maximum(per season) required for a week would be 356 in a grand villa at OKW(cheaper then a one and two bedroom) and 966 in a grand villa at BWV. Everything else falls in between.
