Navagators Verandah VS verandah..

What is the difference? Any one have pictures? I am in the early stages of planning our first cruise and debating room options for our family of 5... One being getting connecting (with door) staterooms.

What is the difference in the Cat 5 or 6 Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah.... Why is one Cat 5, the others Cat 6??

Same for Cat 7 and 8.... Navagators verandah.

Is the difference location? Deck?

Thanks bunches! :bounce:

Barb's site is a great resource.

Quickly a Navigator's veranda is found in the aft of the ship. The veranda is mostly enclosed with a large open "porthole". It has a metal bottom. The regular verandas have two chairs and a small table. The navigator has a padded wood chair, wood table, and a padded bench. We prefer the navigator verandas as we find them cozier.

As for the 5 and 6 the only difference is location. Cat. 5 is on deck 7 only. Cat 6 is on decks 5 and 6.

I too have a family of five and booked connecting category 7s. I think this will give us the space we need and verandahs to boot! But there are only a couple that connect in this category so you may want to book them as soon as possible.

If you decide on a Nav Verandah do not choose Room 5132

- we had this room on our 2/28 western and it did not have a

bench - it had 2 chairs. We were very disappointed as we were

looking forward to sitting and reading on the bench. We

checked with guest services and they advised us that not

all NV have a bench some come with only 2 chairs.

I believe Navigator's verandah rooms (cat. 7) will only work for 3 or less. We have 4, so it is not an option.

Yup they do only sleep 3 so we have the same problem here. On the dispute of cat 7 vs. cat 8's there are no cat 8 Navigator's Veradahs. Since you guys have 5 people in your party my suggestion is to get a Cat 6 and then get a cat 10 across the hall.
