New to all of this so please bear with me! We are planning trip for August and seriously thinking about renting points for dvc (either okw or bc) - me,dh,son, friend and 5yr d. If we rent a studio - I understand there is no w/d? We are planning on a 10- 12 nite stay (we only get to come every 2-3 years!) What do you do for towels, etc? I realize there is one in the 1 bdr. Also, in renting a dvc, can you still get the ultimate pass? We were also discussing splitting the time between dvc and POR, and again - how do you do the tickets? We are on a pretty tight budget thanks to alot of medical bills this year but want very much to stay on property-we love the disney atmosphere! Any input is appreciated!:wave2:

The room capacity for a studio is only four. A 1-bedroom is the same, only 4 people. To house the 5 of you you'll need a 2-bedroom. Then you will have a washer and dryer in your room.

You've been given the technical room occupancy info. To answer your other questions, they will change out towels 3 times during that stay with a full cleaning once. There is a W/D by the pools at OKW and in the building at BCV. You can also buy extra towel packs containing 4 washclothes, 4 towels and 2 hand towels at $6 per pack.

OKW will have the larger rooms and lower points but you'd really need a car. The bedding is two queens at OKW and a queen plus pull out full size (love seat) at BCV and the rest of the WDW properties.

If you need to sleep 5 your other alternative would be to request a one bedroom at the Boardwalk which has an additional day bed - will sleep a 5th very short person (4 feet long day bed).

Yes, you can get the ultimate passes with your room, but you would get a length of stay for POR, and then have to get another one for DVC. However, if you are planning on staying 10-12 nights, you really should consider an annual pass, which would be a bit cheaper, I believe, and you will be able to get your room at a discount. Certainly you will be able to stay at the more expensive resorts for less money. Last summer AKL was $125 per night with the annual passport discount--you can get food at a discount too--that's less than 1/2 the regular price of the room, and much cheaper than POR. By the way, the only part of POR that is open is the Riverside section.

Sorry capecodnut but I disagree. The "day bed" is nothing more than a glorified bench with a cushion on it. It was long enough for my then 8 year old to lay down on but she couldn't roll over or she would have been on the floor.

Plus, you can't be guaranteed the Studio Plus room. If you get it, you get it. If you don't you are out of luck.

Have you considered two rooms at a Value resort instead?
