Confused - how to book Split Stay

Ok, we made a decision for our stay in September 2013.

Contemporary and on of the All Star Resorts or POP.
Will there be non-family-suite rooms in the Art of Animation too?
Would be worth a thought then.

Ok now my question.

The plan is 3 (or 4) days Value without Dining Plan or maybe Quick Dining and Park Hopper Water Fun blabla Tickets.
After that 3 (or maybe 4) days Contemporary with Deluxe Dining and the above mentioned tickets.

Is that possible?
I guess no..



I found out that I can only get on the DP when I book a package with tickets.
But when I split the tickets, it gets very expensive..

It seems that the most economical way to book a split stay is to do the dining portion on the front end, adding days to your tickets to cover the second half of your stay.

But you do also have the option of picking up your park tickets early. For your stay, you'd book room only for the first part of your stay, book the dining and tickets on the second part of your stay and then pick up the tickets early. Cheshire Figment has instructions on how to do this - I think on the Theme Park Strategies board?

We did a split stay last year, Contemporary up front with no dining, then Caribbean Beach with tickets,dining. (We did 2 nights Contemporary/5 nights CBR) We were able to pick our tickets up early. If I remember correctly you can pick up your tickets up to 3 days early at a Guest relations window. I had done some research on here and found it to be true. We did have some minor complications picking them up and checking in for our package but nothing that was a big deal.

Yes, there will be standard rooms at the AOA resort, but from what i've read, those won't be ready until December of this year
We've haven't done a split stay technically, but we have had 2 ressie's, due to the dates of promotions. Meaning, we had to check in twice (to the same resort POR), and we were able to pick up our tickets a day early from Guest services at HS with no problem at all!

We did a split stay with 4 nights CBR - dining and 3 nights Poly - no dining. We got a great AAA room rate at the Poly. We had tickets for 7 days and when we moved to Poly they put the remaining park days on our room keys there. It was a simple switch.

I was glad that we only had the dining plan while at CBR - it was a lot of food. We saved two of our table service credits to go to the Luau our first night at Poly since the dining plan was still good until midnight of that day.

I think you can do room only first and just pick up your tickets early. Call and check.
