Ok, I'm confused, and memebr services is closed...so I'll ask the experts....

The poll about how many points you will buy at the new TOWERS is what's confusing me....

If I have a master contract at BEACH CLUB of 200 points...

Can I do an add on at any of the other DVC resorts? EX: Can I buy 50 points at AKV's?
What is the min. amount of points you can now buy when doing an add-on?

Ok, DVC experts...help a fellow memeber out...

PS. What is the min. amount of points that I can add on to my BCV's contract?
I have not done an add on in years....THANKS!

Yes, once you are a member, you can add on at any DVC resort though you may have to go on a waitlist if they don't have the points available for your UY. The minimum add-on is 25 points if you are paying cash and 50 points if you are financing. These miniumums are true of any DVC resort that you are adding on to.

THANK YOU!!!
I love this site......thanks for the fast reply!! Now we can talk this topic over tonight....
Thanks... Donald....

Do new resorts come out w/different use years? For example, we have AKV in Dec....if Kingdom Towers comes out, and has a different use year, we wouldn't be able to buy an add on there?

You would be able to add on and it would be the same use year you have now.

I believe that each resort has all UYs. They split the units up amongst the UYs.

True. This is a timeshare. Each room is sold for every day of the year. But with modern timeshares you aren't locked into a particular room or time of the year.

There is no guarantee you'll be able to do an Add-on at Kingdom Towers.

It's possible they may make it DVC II and not be part of the current DVC. The article stated that the Kingdom Towers will have it's own "Condominium Association".

If it's not part of the current DVC, then it might not even be possible to book there using points from any of the current DVC resorts.

We'll have to wait and see.

and just because someone, somewhere, is confused:

if Kingdom Towers does turn out to be part of the current DVC, adding-on 50 pts there will only give you the 11 month window at KT for THOSE 50 pts.

your 200 pts (or whatever) on your master contract at BCV (or wherever), are still only good for booking 11 months out at THAT home resort.

I'm confused. What advantage is there to adding 50 points at a different hotel, then? It won't be enough to get you a week there with the 11 month window without banking/borrowing a lot. I never realized that they separated points that way. I guess I assumed that the points just went into a pool and any resort you owned points for would allow you the 11 month window. Good information...

Each DVC resort has its own "Condominium Association". My take on the article is that it looks like the KT will be be higher in the points needed per night than the existing resorts.

ha! i knew you were out there! ;)

exactly, people bank and borrow a lot to turn 50 pt add-ons into 150 pts every third year.

or else they book what they can at 11 months and use their master contract pts to try to fill out the reservation at 7 months...or else do a "split stay" and spend a few nights at their add-on before moving on to their master contract's home resort...

LOL! That's what happens when you crunch numbers all day! Seriously, though, that makes sense -- thanks for clarifying it for me!
