I can't believe I'm asking questions about WDW tickets when I've been so many times, but the new type have completely thrown me so, I'm probably being brain-dead  but can any help me with what they think will be the best option?

There are going to be 5 adults and 2 children, we want 5 (maybe 6) days at the WDW parks, only 1 day at one of the water parks and 1 day at DisneyQuest (but to confuse matters that's only for 4 adults and 1 child).

So, what do you reckon is the best ticket to get? I know they have the new tickets now but the information I've read has just managed to confuse me further!!

Next question is, where is the best place to get it for the best deal (I'm happy to buy in advance or to buy over there).

Finally, I've got various tickets from trips in the past but have no idea of how many days etc are left on them. I know there are 4 days left on one adult ticket and thanks to Michelle I know I can check the days still valid once I'm out there but obviously this complicates matters in that I don't want to over buy tickets that might then go out of date.

Argh, so confusing - was so simple when we all had annual passes but sadly won't have need for those this year.

Thanks for any help you lot!

1) Decide how many days you want & do you wish to park hop. If you never park hop, why pay for it?
2) Do you want the ticket to expire 14 days after first use, i.e are you definitely going to return?
3) Do you want the plus bits (these do not add much to the cost of the ticket, probably about the same as single entry to TL or BB)

Don't forget you do not all have to have the same tickets. You can buy in advance or at the turnstile or at the resort, however you can often get discounted tickets in advance. I always buy from the US (ticketmania) as I subscribe to mousesavers & with a good £:$ exchange, this beats UK sites.

There are alot of options, but if you take a logical approach you'll get what you want/need, but you are just required to think a bit if you want to be economical!

Hi, us like you totally confused by the choice, we have had magic your way plus which include the waterparks etc but not hopping, they expire after 14 days but we have planned our days around the tickets beacuse its cheaper than non expire. ;)
We got tickets from ticketmania.com these are the cheapest i could find on the net and free delivery. :flower1:

Happy hunting :cheer2:

I would try and do your itinery first then decide on the ticket. Sharon

onece you get bitten by the bug and you plan on going again we allways go for the most days hopper with plus (and make shure they dont expire)we have always found this the best value option (divide the total amount by the disney days including hopper days) it works out cheap we usaly try to plan 2 holidays a year so we plan on geting water park annuals with disney quest and sometimes we adust holidays around passes (went late aug last year early aug this year) when we come to end of our stay we always go to frount desk and ask how many days left we then make a smal little note on ticket like 3p 2w (3park 2water)so we will know next time.Best place for them just shop around lots of sites out there

also forgot to say that if you plan on going to water parks for 3 days its cheaper to by an annual there about $100.00 for a adult

It's all too confusing isn't it.

I would try and stick with what you know so here's my shot at a recommendation.

For the 4 adults and 1 child wanting to do the water parks/disneyquest - get a 7 day ticket that expires after 14 days and add the magic plus - looking at Ticketmania.com the 7 day is only $1 more expensive than the 5 day and cheaper than the 6 day.

For the other adult - use the ticket with 4 days and see what's on the other tickets then just buy single park entries as/if required (hopefully you'll not have this hassle).

For the other child - not sure if you have any child tickets but if you dont know if anything's on them I'd just go for the 7 day base ticket.

Make sure you check out what's left on the tickets for your next trip :smooth:

Of course, if you want park hopping or you're there for >14 days then that changes everything :earboy2:

To do this you need to order from the US as we only get a limited selection over here - I'm sure there are plenty recommendations on these boards but I'd go with www.ticketmania.com

I've just got off the phone from Keith Prowse who tell me that as UK visitors to WDW the facility where we can upgrade our tickets to never expire is not available. They tell me that only US visitors can pay to upgrade their tickets so that they never expire.

Is this true?

Thanks,
Andy

I'm not sure of the answer but I suspect the option to upgrade your ticket to never expire is not available at the time of buying your tickets in the UK. There are also a whole stack of tickets not available to us.

If you buy your tickets from US then you can upgrade them never to expire when choosing your ticket - let's hope they dont stop us buying tickets from the US!

I believe you can also get them upgraded at the theme park but I guess that if the UK tickets are different in some way then there may not be the upgrade option - eg. the 14 and 21 day tickets are only available in the UK and wont be upgradeable but I thought the 7 day ticket was the standard one available in the US but perhaps it's different.

Sorry - no definite answer. Maybe one of the ticket experts out there knows the definitive answer to this.
