Confused - can someone explain this to me?

My family is headed to Disney in December. We will all be staying together in a reservation under my name. It's 5 adults and 4 kids. Do we have to all do the same thing for our fast pass reservations or does each person get their own fast pass list? And the same for ADRs - can we go dine in different places? If yes, as the reservation holder do I have to make everyone's ADRs?

I'm sorry for such basic questions. I tried so hard to figure this out on my own and got totally turned around!

Nope, you don't all have to do the same thing. You get to pick which persons you want to apply the FastPass to.

If you are dining separately, you do not need to personally make all their ADRs. You are not obligated by Disney to dine together.

No, if everyone is on MDE and linked to each other's account as friends, everyone will have the ability to make FP reservations. A person can make/change FP reservations for themselves and any friend they have listed. ADRS can be made by anyone, but the credit card on the account (presumably yours) will be the one listed for guarantee. When you get to check in, make sure that anyone who wants to charge to their own credit card has it linked to their personal magic band.

Can I add that as the planner for a large group, no you don't have to make everyone's FP+ reservations, but you might find it easier if you do? We had all sorts of issues and it worked much easier for everyone when I just did everyone's. I could copy to those who wanted to be together and do others separate. This was back when it was first starting out, so the IT may have improved since then, but somehow I doubt it.
