Confused by joining points and cash res

Hi everyone,

We have a cash res for a studio for 5 nights beginning Nov 9. Today I found out Nov 13 became available on points. To make this part of the reservation, the CM had to cancel the original cash reservation, re-book it with a new confirmation number, and give me a confirmation number for the points night.

I have a few questions for this:

1. Will this mess up luggage delivery for Magical Express?

2. If another night becomes available, will we have to go through the process again? What if the First night becomes available? Will I have one confirmation for the first night, another confirmation for the next 3 nights, and an additional confirmation for the final night?

3. Will we have to check in/out for every one of these reservations even though MS made them?

If all of the nights were reserved thru MS, you should not need to move during the stay. All "components" of the stay will be linked together into a seamless reservation. I always double check the details at arrival. If you have a combination of points and cash, it's possible you might need to re-check-in and get a new key, but you should not need to move (as long as your have the same room type for the entire stay). In the past we have had both situations - requiring a second check-in or not - but the last few times, no additional trips to the front desk were required as everything was dealt with at arrival.

You won't have any problem with DME as long as the arrival date and resort is correct - reservaton changes can even be straightened out at the DME check-in at the airport. The departure will also be taken care of at the airport - but can also be checked at the resort itself.

As long as DME knows the resort for your first night, you luggage should have no problem finding it's way to your room.
