Confused, bed sizes?

I know this will sound like a mad question but can anyone help me with bed sizes. We originally booked Boardwalk Inn next year, it would have two double beds ( are they 4'6" in America?). We changed our booking to Boardwalk Inn Villa Studio, think it said bed was a Queen, what size is that? When we stayed at OKW in 1 bed this year the bed was huge, bigger than our King size at home which I think is 5'.

Any way trying to persuade friends who we are travelling With to change too, but they think they'll need two beds, as they struggle to share a 4'6" double as he's over 6' and sleeps diagonally in a bed that size (sorry if that's too much info )

We prefer layout of Studio as only two of us this year, room will be slightly bigger, more floor space without extra bed we wouldn't use and a kitchenette may be handy for quick breakfasts.

If it's a big bed in a studio our rooms will be closer together.

US Queen is effectively a UK King.

US King sized beds are enormous. I could lie down with my arms stretched out either side and not touch the edge on one side or my husband on the other!!

It must have been a King at OKW then . Thanks for the reply, so you think it'll be 5' bed then if their Queen is the same size as our King, so I assume longer too. I'll let them know.

According to Wikipedia, Queen is 60 inch by 80 inch... Which is actually an inch bigger each way to a UK King sized!

Roughly translated a US Full or double is the same as a UK Double.

US Queen is a UK King

US King is a UK Super King.

All deluxe and moderate resorts have 2 queens as standard or one King.

DVC resorts have one queen bed plus a double sleeper in studios (except OKW which is 2 queens), one beds have a King in the master and queen sleeper in the living room as a minimum.
