Hi:

We are looking to do a disney vacation with a toddler who will be two years old when we start the week at disney at the end of the week they will be turning three, does the toddler still qualify for free entrance to the parks the whole week or does it change when they turn three.

Deb.

Letter of the law, 3 years old and up require a park ticket.
I doubt if anybody will question you at the turnstiles.

Disney's policy is if they are 2 when you check in they are 2 for tickets for the whole week. I'm not sure if food places work the same way though (which mostly applies to buffets since everywhere else it is if you order food for them you pay for it)

Whatever age the child is at check in, that's the age he/she is for the entire trip :).

I think could be wrong information I was given by CM at Disney travel. But if they turn 3 when at Disney you need a ticket. He said Disney has changed the rules. Every other CM told me if he/she is two when book and turn three ...they are two at the parks. I wish they would train their CM better than they do as everyone of them have a different take on the rules :(

If they are two at check in, they are 2 for the entire time you are there. We took our 2 year old for his actual birthday in 2011. Even though he turned 3 mid trip, he was still treated like a 2 year old at restaurants and at the turnstiles.

NO! The CM who told you that the child will need a ticket on the day he turns 3 is WRONG. It is as a previous poster said, if the child is two at the BEGINNING of a trip, that is the age he remains through the ENTIRE trip. Children do NOT age at Disney.

If you've ever been on a cruise, it's very much the same way. If a 20 year old individual celebrates their 21st birthday on the high seas, they are NOT allowed to enjoy their first legal adult beverage on the cruise, as the cruise lines use the age of the person when the cruise departs. You don't age on a cruise, either.
