Confused about rider swap

I am completely confused about rider swap and I'm sure somebody here can answer my question....

We will have 4 kids ages 3 and under who will not meet the height requirements on things such as Splash, Space, etc. We are traveling with my extended family. My plan was to FP these attractions for myself, my parents and my sister to ride together, then use rider swap so MH can ride with my BIL (sis and BIL also have small kids and need to use rider swap). My question is: do MH and BIL need FPs as well when utilizing the rider swap? If they don't have FPs, will they need to get in the regular line (therefore, causing all of us to wait for them)? I hope this isn't too confusing...thanks for any tips or advice.

They should not need FP - the rider swap will allow up to 3 people to enter the fastpass queue - they just check your ticket at the gate and then you give it to the person at the second FP scanner. Be aware that splash used a different process for getting them. They asked my party to take a badge through the line and at the end a CM took it and gave them 3 tickets - each for an individual rider - that could be used for most of the big rides (called the "Thrill Collection").

Probably had too many people getting ride swap then jumping out of line.

Oh, ok. Thank you! I think I get it. So maybe it would make more sense (for example) for me, sis, and mom to FP while MH, BIL, and dad use rider swap for Splash. Then their FPs can be used on another attraction while the ladies use the rider swap?
