Confused About Parking At Resort

I am trying to help a friend who is taking his own vehicle. They are staying at Coronado, but have breakfast at Cape one morning and then plans to head to EPCOT. His family has the first breakfast seating so he will drive his own car.

Parking is free at the hotel, correct?

Can he leave his car there all day while at EPCOT?

I assume you meant Cape May. Here's the issue....yes, parking at the resort is free. But the expectation is that you will move your car once you are done with your meal. You are not supposed to leave your car at a resort if you are not using the amenities of that resort. So, you are expected to move your car to the Epcot parking lot.
Having said this, will anything happen to the car if left at Beach Club? Probably not. It's just a question of using something others pay for (guests that pay to stay at that resort are paying premium prices for that parking and access to Epcot)

Depending on the time of year, and what time breakfast is, he may have trouble finding a spot to park. We stay at BC/YC frequently and now try to avoid renting a car because the parking situation there is so bad. We’ve had lots of trips where we’ve had to circle the lot repeatedly before finding a spot. And most of the problem is lazy people and scammers who park at the resort lot to avoid having to move their car and/or the parking fees if applicable.

He should move his car to the Epcot parking lot after breakfast. That’s the actual Disney rule, even if enforcement is sporadic.

Or he can valet park...that allows you to park all day, it’s just you have to pay extra for it.

He could always ask at the booth when he enters the BC lot, see what they say. Sometimes if it is not crowded it they may be given the OK. It has happened to me at other resorts.

Depending on how many people and whether car seats are needed, Uber/Lyft to BC for breakfast is another option. The cost would be minimal from CSR, and they could easily walk over to Epcot after breakfast. Busing back to CSR after Epcot would be a quick ride too.
