His is our 2nd time going to disney and first time in the fall, only trip was in summer. We are going sept 12-19, this is during mickeys not so scary Halloween party time and I'm confused. Online the little I found says the party is 7-12pm and about $65 per person. Does this mean Magic kingdom is closed u less you buy a ticket to get in for that time? When we were there in the summer it was open until 10-11pm with wishes fireworks etc.

Yes that is exactly what it means. The parks in general close a bit earlier in the fall than in the summer. So if you don't have a party ticket and want to see the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom you need to plan your days carefully.

It also means that you cannot book an ADR in the Magic Kingdom past 6:55 on party nights, unless you are going to the party.

The party isn't every night, so when the schedule comes out pay attention to what days the park closes early for the party and what days it is open late for everyone or for EMH. If you have park hoppers you can always do MK then hop to another park.

We went in the fall in 2013 and did not go to the party but the following night the MK had EMH till 12 or 1 i think. So just plan accordingly if you don't plan on going to the party.

Thank you! Sorry for all the typos I hate typing on a phone...

Are there any other special events like this at the other parks? Also we were planning to try and eat one night at ohana and then watch the fireworks on the beach and then take the monorail to MK to get the bus back to AOAa. Never did this before, is it a good idea to do it on MNSSHP day if we don't go to the party (our kids will be 3 and 5) not sure the kids can stay up for the party.

Be a great day to do that because the fireworks are special for the party - "Hallowishes" - and they are good.

Better check about the beach were Ohara is. I think that beach is closed now cause that is were the new dvc villa bungalows are built now.

Yes, that'd be a great idea. Also, on days when there's a party, the park is emptier earlier in the day because people avoid going on a day when the park will close earlier. So you could have a pretty good day at MK before heading out to Ohana.

On the other hand, the party is really quite worth it, imo.
It technically ends at 12 but the parade and Hallowishes are at the same hours as the regular night entertainment. The party things start at 7 but you can enter the park since 4. So for a lot of people, their party may be from 4-10 and you get the same hours and the same entertainment. If your kids wouldn't stay up but you think they'd enjoy dressing up and watching the entertainment or meeting the special characters, you may consider that option. :)

Have fun!

People with tickets to the party can enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4PM. They get a special wristband that is designated for the party. At 7PM, anyone without the wristband is asked to leave the park. Cast members go around constantly checking for wristbands. We took my kids when they were 3 and 6, and they had no problems staying up for most of the party. If you do decide to do the party, I recommend doing just the party and saving your park ticket for other days because you will get a lot of time in the park.

As one PP said, you may want to check the beach and make sure it is open to the public when you will be there. It has been closed for a while due to the construction. An alternative would be dinner at California Grill around the time of the fireworks. It's a great place to see them.

We usually have a resort day on a party night and head in at 4PM to the park as they let you in early if that would work for you.

If you want to see the fireworks in the park and do not plan on doing the party, you will need to plan carefully and expect big crowds at night to see them. With limited opportunity due to only a few non party night, everyone will be trying to see them at the same time. Last time we went on a non party night, you couldn't even move in the rotary or down Main Street. Never again for us.
