So, I am just learning of this "Mickey's Very Merry Holiday Party." I plan on visiting the Magic Kingdom on 12/1/16, I have a standard park admission and I made Be Our Guest Dinner reservations for 7:05 this night, which I thought was fine and normal.

Now I see this holiday party is running in the park starting from 7pm to late and they charge a separate admission for the holiday party.

Does this mean I'm going to get kicked out of the park at 7pm, if I don't have a holiday party admission, and I can't go to "Be Our Guest"?

Help! I'm really not keep on buying $100 admissions for a holiday themed "party" when I have already paid park admission for this day. Does anyone know how this will work?

You will be asked to leave the park at 7. If you want to eat at Be Our Guest that night dinning reservations have to be made for before 6:15 on party nights this year. If your reservation is after 6:15 expect to get a phone call or email about 2 weeks prior saying if you don't buy tickets (or link already purchased tickets) then the reservation will be cancelled.

I've heard of people having reservations right as a party starts - just be in the area and check in on time. They will start checking for wristbands around the time the party starts. After you eat, a CM will escort you to the gates unless you have a party ticket.

That's incorrect.

If you're doing a multi-day visit, you may want to change your MK day or you may not. Without a party ticket, you will have to leave the park at 7:00 and you will not be able to make that BoG reservation; you need to cancel it.

MK party days are less crowded during the day, so if you have a park hopper ticket, you may want to keep MK for that day and hop somewhere else around 4:00 when the party goers start arriving. If you don't have hoppers, you probably want to visit another park that day.

But the party starts at 7 and the reservation is 7:05pm. Also, when making the reservations, I am seeing warnings that anyone with a reservation starting at 6:40pm and later needs to have a party ticket...I wouldn't risk it.

That has changed as of this year. It has been made very clear that you can not hold a reservation after a certain time unless you have a party ticket. It is on the confirmation emails and on the website.

This is not the way they are doing it this year. If you do not have a party ticket, your ADR must be before 6:15. Anything after that requires a party ticket or you will not be admitted, and you can be charged the $10 pp cancellation fee.

Be Our Guest is actually 6:20 seating or later. I think 6:40 is Cinderella's Royal Table.

Yep, that is what I was looking at then. I know I made a reservation for SOMETHING yesterday and it was telling me 6:40pm ;) I have both so I couldn't remember which one it was.

I wouldn't risk it either, personally, but I have seen on other Disney boards that people have been able to get in with a reservation as late as 7:15 last year. It would stress me out too much to try for it, because it's probably a case of whether the CM is going to be lenient or not and I wouldn't want to roll the dice.

I don't think it will be allowed. There's a notice when you make the reservation that it's during a hard ticket event and you must have a ticket to that event to go to the ADR.

Last year they weren't putting warnings everywhere and big bold letters saying you need the the special event ticket or you will not be admitted. So I think all the abuse of nice CMs that happened last year has lead to phased party closing from the back of the park towards the front when it comes to restaurants.

I don't blame them. And while I'm sure this is not the OPs intent, I can't imagine the number of people who make ADR's for later times on party nights with the expectation of trying to sneak into the party.

You're not listening. LAST YEAR it was allowed. THIS YEAR there is a warning on the reservation page that is bigger and cannot be missed. It is also on your confirmation. I know this because I just got a reservation for our party night for 6:20. They are giving plenty of foreknowledge and if anyone ignores it, they will be disappointed. The CMs will not be lenient this year.

Wow, apparently you're not listening - the last post on this thread was mine saying that I don't blame them for changing the policy. My information was out of date, but it was accurate for last year. As there have been no parties yet this year and the new policy hasn't been widely broadcast, this is not unusual to have new policies that haven't reached every single person yet. Time to calm down a bit.

The policy is now written in stone and very clearly detailed when you make an ADR No one can use last year's information at this point. No CM is going to be lenient. This is nto about taking a chance or rolling the dice. In regards to this, it is NO dice..

Sorry. Your first AND second post made it sound like there might still be a possibility of getting ADRs for just before/just after the party begins, and I was trying to make it clear that THIS YEAR that was not a possibility at all.

And while it may not have been widely broadcast, this is the second thread about it along with info being shared over on the "official" MVMCP thread outlining the change.

It's at the very end of the reservation process.

At the end of the process. It's ridiculous.

They should show it right there on the page before you click on the bubble with the time in it. I was just doing this today and was appalled at how late the notice came up.

You guys act like it's a gif floating all over the pages from beginning to end, but it's nowhere near as obvious as you're making it out to be.

And by the time you've gotten there and try to go back to snag an earlier time, those are gone. Serious waste of time.
