Confused about luggage

OK, I need help here. I was thinking that you were allowed 2 pieces of luggage per person...and then 1 carry-on and a purse or bag per person.
Is that right? The reason I'm confused is because I just read in another post that your carry-on has to be tagged to, and if that's the case then there aren't enough tags for all the luggage. We got 2 each in our cruise docs, which means we could take 4 pieces of luggage, but then what would we tag our carry-ons with? Does this mean my purse would have to be tagged to?...I wouldn't think so, but I don't want to assume anything...
Replies are greatly appreciated...we are leaving tomorrow night to head for Port Canaveral! :moped:
TIA!

Hmmm, I didn't have cruise tags on any of my carry on luggage (i.e., the luggage/bags/cooler/backpacks that we hauled ourselves through the cruise terminal onto the ship). I sailed less than 2 months ago. I drove to Fla, but I don't see how that would be any different with your airplane carry-ons - you have them with you the whole time.

Perhaps someone confused the yellow pre-boarding tags with the cardboard character tags you get when you disembark. The last night of the cruise, you set your luggage out with character tags attached (for instance, I had Daisy); when you disembark you go to your character's section to retrieve your luggage (I don't know how this works for people w/ Disney transfers). I imagine you can get as many of those tags as you need.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!

OK, thanks. I was thinking that you wouldn't have to tag your carry-ons, but I wanted to make sure. We are driving down as well, so I won't have to worry about any airline tags.

If it fits through the scanner you can carry it on to the ship. You don't need to tag it or leave it. Have a great trip.

We have never tagged our carry on..that doesn't even make sense actually.

FYI...they don't really monitor or check the amout of luggage each person birngs...as a matter of fact the guys checking the bags at the curb have additional bag tags for those who pack way beyond what is needed....(personal experience  ) The only time it really mattered how much luggage we had was at the airport...and of course how hard it was for us to lug around so much stuff as we transfered from the ship to our car...and through out the airport....I keep telling myself...never again will I pack so much. :earseek:
