Confused About Luggage Tags

Just got our packet with luggage tags. The booklet states that the tags should be placed on our luggage before we fly to MCO and it will be delivered to the ship.

This confuses me -- because we are flying in via Southwest the evening before our September cruise and staying at the MCO Hyatt -- where we understood the hotel would pick up our luggage from our room the morning of our cruise. We have booked the DCL transportation already and have input all our travel information into our reservation.

Does the information in the booklet sound correct? -- because if it is, I will have to rethink the packing (was gonna just take a backpack onto the ship -- now will have to have all the overnight stuff for the hotel).

Also -- we received 2 tags for each person? How do I get another one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you book the Hyatt MCO through DCL? If not, they don't know you are arriving early and staying there. It's standard to put the DCL luggage tags on your bag before your flight if you are gong directly from airport to port.

We had to claim our bags at MCO and take them to the Hyatt. From the Hyatt they were picked up in our room and taken directly to the ship.

You only get 2 luggage tags per person in your cruise booklet. You can get additional tags at the DCL transfer desk (maybe at the Hyatt, also, I don't know).

Also, be sure to mention when you check in at the Hyatt that you are using DCL transfers the next day. They will give you an information sheet to be filled out and handed in at the DCL transfer desk the next morning.

ONLY use the luggage tags from home if flying in on embarkation day. Since you are flying in the day prior, do not put the tags on until you are at your room at the Hyatt. You can get more tags at the DCL Transfer desk, possibly at the Hyatt but I'm not sure.

Enjoy your cruise!

Princess Shmoo and lanejudy -- thank you! I thought the tags were only to be placed on the luggage if it was embarkation day. We didn't book the hotel or the flights through DCL -- but entered our information when we did the online check-in (the booklet has our flight information correctly in it). I appreciate your help!

Well, just entering the information that you are flying in the day before doesn't register with the DCL computers. They're only aware if THEY booked the day earlier flight and/or hotel reservations for you.
