Confused about light or dark transfers

For this image, do I need a dark or light transfer? :confused3 If the dark shows the white background, then you would be able to see the white around the words, correct? But if I use a light transfer, is it going to show the white writing in the ears, the crown and her dress? I wanted to be able to iron it on and still see the pink of the shirt around the writing without a white background. This is the first time I have done transfers with colored shirts and I dont want to mess up shirts experimenting. Thanks!!

If you use a light transfer, you would need to put it on a white shirt or ask the DISigner to put a frame around the DISign, then you can put it on a dark shirt. Otherwise you will have to cut out the letters and the DISign if you don't want the white to show. Penny:goodvibes

Now I only use dark fabric iron on material. The other material doesn't last, it's stiff and will crack and peel. Either way, it need to be trimmed well to look good. I used to cut it out by hand, but a friend of mine has a machine now (way better than a cricut) that can print and cut out anything. If the design doesn't have a white background and can be put on top of a background, I would try to find the closest color to the shirt and print that way, so if you couldn't trim perfect it wouldn't look too bad.

My experience has persuaded me in the same direction as you. The transfers I've used designed for dark fabrics seem to be more durable.

Last year I made Halloween Party bags and there were certain things I didn't want the white to show against the black bags. It took a great deal of time, but I cut out each letter and reassembled them on the bags and then ironed them on. Time consuming but it was worth the trouble.

I never thought of a close match with the color of the actual fabric to use as a background fill. You're way smarter than me :rotfl:
