Confused about Fantasmic Dinner Package

I am interested in having dinner at Hollywood & Vine. I know most people are being told they may NOT use the dining plan for Fantasmic dinner packages. So can we just eat there and take our chances on a seat at Fantasmic? Are all of the "good" PS times reserved for people doing the package? Is the package worth paying out of pocket?

Hi!!! My first time I went to Fantasmic it was in the summer and it was standing room only. I have since only gone to Fantasmic by using the package. I have tried all three restaurants and like Mama Melrose the best. If you are willing to line up 2 hours in advance or go to the second show of the night then yes you should get in no problem. I like the fact that I show up 1/2 hour before the show and get great seats. You just have to decide if waiting in line is for you. Whatever you decide....Dont miss the show,it is GREAT!!!!

We saw Fantasmic when we went in January, but it was off season. We ended up sitting down about an hour before the show, and it was clear that we could have waited MUCH later. The really good thing was that we were some of the first ones OUT of the show, and the first ones on the bus back to the resort. We were in the "Sebastion" section about 10 rows from the top.

We didn't have a dinner package, but we are wondering if we will want one for October. It will be more crowded than January with only one show (I imagine). I saw another thread where some people ARE being allowed to use the dining plan, so maybe we will just book the package and be prepared to pay out of pocket if necessary.

Which dining plan do you have? Because I just called and booked a package Wednesday, and we have the old Dream Maker Gold Package (booked in Oct. 04), and they told me it was included. So it's weird that it is for us, and not for you.

I didn't want to take the chance of not getting to see it, so I booked the package. All we had to do was reserve with a Credit Card, in case we don't cancel 48 hours in advance...

The CM I talked to said that they only do the package between 4pm and 5pm, we got the last table for 2 at 4pm on 7/14...

Our dining will be the new Magic Your Way plus Dining. I think it technically isn't supposed to include the Fantasmic package but some CM's are ringing it up so it is covered.

I have read multiple threads that say they will open up later times for Fantasmic packages if you call about 3 weeks before your trip. If you want to get something later it is worth a call to see if they have later seatings. I know I don't enjoy dinner at 4 PM which is why we avoided the package before. I wasn't aware until recently that they release later times about 21 days or so before.
