Confused about Dumbo

How are new abbreviations decided on?

The ironic thing is that "official" WDW abbreviations are not always the DIS abbreviations.

Two I notice a lot:

The Pirates League - on DIS it's often PL, but at WDW it's TPL.

Festival of the Lion King - on DIS it's FotLK, at WDW it's FOLK.

And sometimes Imagineers forget to think through possible abbreviations and create attractions called: Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor :rotfl2:

I caught that one myself last week when I mentioned it in response to a question. I edited that post real quick.

Speaking of the new Dumbo...did anybody else see this article from Epcyclopedia a couple days ago?

"New Double Dumbo Designed by Dolts at Walt Disney World"

Basically, it says that there is a flaw in the construction of the ride, and the "pit" beneath the Dumbo's is too shallow and causing the vehicles to hit the bottom. As a result, the "fiberglass of the brand new attraction carriages is being scraped away daily and causing the ride system to have stoppages and closures frequently". There's also apparently an issue with the water feature of the ride.

I'm no expert on ride mechanics...but surely they can't just let this go on indefinitely, right? They're going to have to shut it down at some point to make repairs.

I was talking to my niece who is a former life guard CM and if I say AK she will correct me and say DAK just like DHS.

So I guess to make this work we have to add a CM to the DISOAMtCaC* committee.

And, as many know, the traditional recovery time for knee replacement is six weeks.

It doesn't appear that its too shallow but the pit is not wide enough. I'm assuming the elephants dip down into the pit a little. I'm thinking that the ride and the pit were installed by two different companies. One of them must have made a design change and didn't tell the other.

I wonder if one used metric and one imperial. :rotfl:

Would have been better if it was a hip. My 80 year old mother recovered from her hip replacement much quicker than her knee. One week and she was up and about.

Thinking "creatively..." (read: "cheap and easy")

Every early morning, slap on a dollop of "Dumbo-gray" paint and Voila'...

KNEE DIMPLES!

Yes, it's hitting the side of the pit not the bottom, they have even removed a few of the tiles around the edge of the put. I have heard that the second spinner was fixed before it opened and thet will shut the first one down at some point soon to fix this problem.

How are the waits now that both are open? Does one still need to rush to Dumbo first? I would assume it could be hit after Peter and Pooh?

And then it zoomed right past Mars without stopping for a picture.

I didn't know the renovations would take so long! Can't wait to see the newest updates.
