Confused about discounts and offers

Hi

We are planning on booking a split stay next May 5 nights in CBR with free DDP and then 5 nights RO in Pop century.

I keep seeing people talking about discounts and offers coming out possibly in October so I'm wondering should I book now or wait?

I could book the first 5 nights now so I don't lose out on the free Dining in case that offer goes but are there likely to be any discounts for the other part?

Sorry for all the questions this is my first time booking a WDW stay and I just need to know I'm doing it right and for as good a price as I can.

Hmmm, I'm wondering....would it be possible to use your free dining at Pop? Because you'll probably get a more significant room only discount in May from a moderate resort. Or is your pin only for a moderate?

Yes the current offer is free dining only in a moderate resort, it's the main reason we are staying at CBR as we weren't going to bother with dining as we've always just paid for our food as we've gone along but we've never stayed onsite before so thought it might be easier this time especially as DD wants to do character breakfasts

I would definitely book your fd now and just wait and see what discounts are offered for Pop.
