I usually have an AP and I use frequent flier miles to get to WDW so I never use a package. Do you have to book a package to get the dining plans? If so, what is the approximate cost (per adult) to add on the package. My AP expired so I am thinking of trying to go this new route, but frankly what I read on disney.com had me confused about how much extra this was costing. Can anyone explain this to me?

Thanks!

boy i sure hope someone can answer this cause i am in the same boat..we have had aps..and they expire in a month and well we are going again after thanksgiving..and i would like to try out the dining plan cause we like to do character meals etc...i wanna know if i can save money going that route....

Yes, you have to do a package to get dining. The cost will be (in 2006) $37.99 per adult, per day& $10.99 per child (under 9) per day. The days of dining have to match the nights at your onsite resort. IE. 6 nights at a resort means you must purchase 6 days of the dining plan. Everyone in your room must have the same plan.

Each day you get 1 snack, 1 CS, & 1 TS per person. The price includes taxes & tips!

Just to add to that, you must buy some park pass to make it "a package". If you want to keep your AP, than buy a 1 day pass for everyone. It can be used at a later date or the value credited to your AP renewal (only 1 ticket credit per ticket purchased)

Hope this helps
Sandy
