I'm confused. :confused3 I've just been looking at some info that shows which resorts accomodated 5 (I think I'm not allowed to post the link???)

Anyway -- all the descriptions I've read of the rooms, at say, the Contemporary indicate bed space for at most 4 (2 queen beds). I've got a bunch of bed hogs and 2 doubles isn't going to be real comfy :rotfl: for 4, let alone 5.

Chances are, when we come we won't "legally" be 5, but will have one not-quite-3. I don't really want to haul an extra mattress and a crib will not cut it. Do some of the rooms have these sleeper chairs I've read about in, for example, the family suites at the value resorts?

Thanks for sorting me out ...:coffee:

The Contemporary rooms all have 2 queen beds plus a daybed (little smaller than a twin).

All deluxes have queen beds, not doubles.

All Disney resort rooms sleep a minimum of 4 plus 1 child under the age of 3 in a crib.

Some of the new DVC rooms at AK will have a sleeper chair in their 1 bed room units when they open up.

---------------------------------------------------
The Family Suites has a fold out chair, fold out sofa and the fold out ottoman along with a queen size bed.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no meatle bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

CR has 2 queen beds and a daybed. Very comfy. I am 5'2 and I slept on the daybed one night when DS4 was sleeping like a "dying fish" that I crawled into the daybed and slept great!

I'd considering bringing a cot along. Walmart has a great one in the camping section for $23 and it comes in a heavy-duty bag so can go as checked luggage. We've done this on family trips when we aren't sure if we'll be able to get a hide-a-bed and the kids fight over who gets to sleep in it.

if your kids can't sleep together - then I am pretty sure at a deluxe you can get a cot.

The Polynesian daybeds are very comfy, and the rooms all have a chair/ottoman combo that is almost like a chaise lounge. I've known people who put their little ones down on the chair for naps.

Here's a great pic from Tikiman's site:

We are a family of 5 and the CR fits all of us really well. I put my younger two together, 5 and 8, in one of the queens and my 14 year old dd, who is about 5' 6", fit just fine on the daybed. She said it was very comfortable. Our last trip was just this past Dec.

5 of us stayed at the Poly last year. The rooms there do have queens plus the daybed.

Here are pictures from CR. Sorry about the unmade daybed, the picture was more about DS4 getting his ears and declaring the vaction over(it ws our first night)

And then DS9 falling in love with Stacy.

Hope this gives you a good idea of beds!

From allearsnet: (also the All Star Music Family Suites)

All rooms will fit four people plus a child under 3 in a crib. The following will accommodate more. Be sure to indicate when making your reservation how many persons plan to stay in a room.
Animal Kingdom Lodge (4-5)
Beach Club (5)
Beach Club Villas (4-8)
Boardwalk Inn (4-5)
Boardwalk Villas (4-12)
Contemporary (5)
Port Orleans Riverside (5 in some rooms in the Alligator Bayou section)
Fort Wilderness Cabins and Homes (6)
Fort Wilderness Campsites (10)
Grand Floridian (some rooms 5)
Old Key West (4-12)
Polynesian (5)
Saratoga Springs (4-12)
Wilderness Lodge (4-5) and Villas (4-8)
Yacht Club (4-5)

Just wanted to clarify some of the above accomodations:

AKL - standard room 4, deluxe room 5
WL - standard room 4, deluxe/junior suite room 6
BC/YC/CR/GF/Poly - standard rooms accomodate 5, daybed is average size
BW - standard rooms accomodate 5, but the daybed is child sized

A little more info: all rooms at the Polynesian sleep 5 with the exception of suites. The daybed is the size of a twin.

I think that is also true of the CR.

Some rooms at the GF only sleep 4.

Y&BC daybeds are smaller than that at the Polynesian, GF, AKL and CR.

Some deluxe rooms at the AKL only sleep 3...king and daybed. In addition, the deluxe rooms are being converted to DVC villas.

Unless you're staying at the Polynesian or CR, I would be sure to note that you need beds for 5.
