Confused about DDP and DDE

I thought if you owned DVC you could not have DDP? Is that not correct? We are discussing buying DVC but we really like that we can get DDP if we rent points. We really go to eat.

DVC can have DDP it needs to made before you check in and is payable at check in. If you rent the owner (renter) will need to add this to you reservation you can not do this yourself.

You will NOT be getting the "Free Dining" THe cost is around $39 for each adult. Owning or renting the points doesn't make a difference. (except that if you rent you have to get the owner to add the dining plan for you before you go to Disney)

That now makes sense to me.

You can indeed. But, as with all things Disney, it might not be around forever, so I wouldn't let this be the deciding factor in your purchase.

Granny makes a great point. Because of DVC, we get a hefty discount on annual passes, which makes us eligible for the DDE. With both these perks in your pocket, plus the absolute joy of prepaid vacations, you are good to go.

If you are thinking about buying DVC, don't EVER consider any of the perks in your buying decision. Perks come and go.

When DDP first started, we did not have it. It's a fairly recent addition. Same thing with the AP discount -- recent addition that could go away tomorrow.

If you buy an annual pass for Walt Disney World it is good for all the 4 Major parks in Florida (you can get a premium annual pass that includes the water parks and I think Pleasure Island). It can not be used for Disneyland in California.

ty. i dont think ap would actely be cost wise for me. id go two times maybe a year. if not just once. even with dvc still got be smart. Im closer to dl, so maybe once year there and once year wdw, or cruise. But thanks I will check that site out, and will rember the perks could go away
