Confused about current Bounceback Promotion

Great! Thanks for the clarification! I think if we are offered a BB DH would would more likely to the discount knowing when can always cancel and get our deposit back. He likes that kind of certainty!

I know this is an old thread, but I'd never heard of a "bounceback" offer before and came here searching for answers. We're going in August this year. My question is: has Disney historically offered bouncebacks, or is this something new? I'm kind of hoping that it is offered while we are there August 26-September 4 so that we can book for next year. Does anyone know about the history of the offers?

Last year during the free dining promotion, the bounceback deal was free dining for 2008. The time period was slightly different than the public deal they offered in April for Aug/Sept. It was nice to have the free dining guaranteed since it's always a guessing game as to whether Disney will offer it again the following year.

I found out about the bounceback free dining on the DIS before I even left for our trip. We did not get a flyer in our room but I saw the number on the Resort TV and called.

We did not have a flyer in our room either...and I didn't find out about the free ddp bounceback until we had returned home. As it turns out, we wouldn't have been able to take advantage of the offer anyway because of the dates -- but I would have been really upset if that wasn't the case.

You can betcha this year I'll be searching the room high and low looking for a flyer, watching the TV every chance I get, and asking at the front desk before we leave...and most importantly -- checking the Disboards!!!

Here's a little history (not complete) of what some of the Bouncebacks offered:

BTW- You can bounceback to any resort that has availability with that particular bounceback offer, not just the one you are staying at at the time.

The Bounceback during free dining last year (2007 - guests staying at a WDW resort 8/31 to 9/28/07, then extended to 10/12/07) was to be able to book free dining again for the next year (2008- 8/30-9/29/08).

Looking at at all the info, currently there is no offer for NEXT year?
It looks like the last date is 12/08, nothing for 2009.

Wow, that's great information. I'll have to watch and see if there's anything in my room during my August/September trip. I'll also watch the Resort Channel to see if there are any offers. That's why I love the DIS so much--you really get GREAT information that I truly would not have known otherwise. THANKS!!!
