So when looking at what is included in the dining plan for breakfast, you get one entree/combo, plus one juice, PLUS one non-alcoholic beverage? So if I only want juice with my breakfast can I grab a bottle of soda or water to go along with it and just save it for later? is that how it works? And do they do this because you wouldn't get dessert with your breakfast, so they substitute an extra drink instead?:confused3

According to the brochure, breakfast is juice, entree and nonalcoholic beverage.

At counter service, it's juice, entree and beverage, or combo meal and beverage.

You are correct that dessert is not available with breakfast.

We just got back and did use CS for some breakfasts, we would get an OJ and a bottle of water for later in the parks, we also has the refill mugs so would get a coffee that made 3 drinks for breakfast.

When we would get a combo we were only allowed 1 beverage. If you get just an entree you can have a juice and non alcoholic beverage for CS.

We were at POFQ last week and for breakfast we each had a platter (not sure if that is a combo) but we all got 2 drinks, I got juice and water, DH got 2 OJ's and DD got water and chocolate milk (even though she wanted 2 chocolate milks). DD had to get them from the child size selection in a different cooler.

I think you are both correct, just the CM's or management's discreation. The policy does state one beverage if getting a combo meal, ie. platter.

I thought that the Combo Meals include a beverage. If I go and pay OOP for a combo meal I get a drink and a platter don't I?

Yep, that's how it works-with our refillable mugs we would get 2 bottled beverages as well as our mugs filled. Bottled water, sodas, tea, etc. It's all good! :goodvibes

A combo at disney is an entree and a side so basically your side is suppose to replace the juice that is what the CM at Main Street Bakery told me. If the drink was included with the meal then you could have two drinks for lunch too.

When I went in June I really thought I was allowed 2 drinks from reading the DIS and not a single time was I allowed to do it on our 10 day stay and I tried every morning because I thought I was entitled to it but on our last day the CM explained it to me only if you get an entree without a side could you have 2 drinks. I never read the PDF and wasn't given one when we checked in so I had no idea who was correct so when I got home I looked it up and yep if you get a combo you are not allowed the extra drink.

I got a platter meal at Pepper Market, and then a juice for the kids, and a coffee for myself. That counted as 1 CS credit on the DDP. It came with a blueberry muffin, eggs, 4 sausage, and a big pile of potatoes.

Then I used a snack credit for another pastry.

For 1 CS credit and 1 snack credit, it was plenty for the 4 of us for breakfast.

You get a drink and a platter but if you order a CS combo meal (includes multiple items, like an entree plus sides) you are not entitled to a second drink or juice with breakfast. If you don't order a combo meal, you get a juice AND a beverage. This is what the brochure says. Might work out differently in actual practice.

If you want a great breakfast go to Capt cooks in Polly and get the Konga Toast comes with bacon and you get 2 drinks, also try the made to order omlet at Riverside and this comes with 2 drinks. Went twice to polly this past week for that konga toast.

At Pop, we used QS a couple times for breakfast. I would get the adult platter (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit, potatoes), and then 2 Powerades, and this qualified as a QS credit. Saved the Powerades, and filled my refillable mug for my drink and drank the Powerades later in the day at the parks. Worked out well for us.
