I know tipping is not included in the ddp but what about tax?One cm I spoke to said no the other said yes which is it?

Tipping is NOT included in any of the dining plans. It used to be but it is no longer.

Tax is included.

Edited to add: If you read the 2009 dining plan brochures in the Q&A page it will clearly tell you that tips are not included.

Taxes ARE included in the $39.99 per person per night cost. We did the plan twice in 2008, and again in January 2009. Taxes are covered.

Is the 18% gratuity automatically added for DP meals? I know we pay these but was wondering if they tell you in advance how much you owe like they do when you are not on the DP

The automatic gratutity applies only if you are a party of 6 or more.

I'm sorry, which plan is the $39.99 plan? I assume it is the more expensive one. We are doing the least expensive, but I honestly don't know how much we paid. Thanks for any help.

The quick service plan is $29.99 per adult per night. The basic plan is $39.99 and the deluxe is $71.99. The basic plan is the original Disney Dining Plan and is the one that most guests continue to use, so much discussion on the boards revolves around that plan.
