Conflicting info on reservation balance

I called 1-407-WDISNEY near the end of December and made a room reservation for 3 nights at Pop Century using a discount code. At that time, I was required to pay the first night's deposit. The CM said the balance would be due on arrival (end of this month). A few weeks later, the official WDW paper confirming my reservation arrived. On it was printed that I made my deposit (no problem there) but it lists that the balance is due on Jan 9, 2004.

So I called again and after some slight confusion, the CM confirmed that my balance is due on check-in. The CM then offered to send an e-mail confirming this. I waited 2 days and received no e-mail.

I called back again and explained that my official paperwork conflicts with what I'm being told and mentioned that I was waiting on an e-mail. Again, the CM took my e-mail address and said they'd send something within 24 hours.

Two days has past and still nothing. I'm wondering if I should just let it go or if I should try again to get written confirmation of my balance due date.

Advice?

For some unknown reason, Disney only takes one nights payment to hold reservation; their policy is that you pay the remainder upon check-in. This past May, we made ressies at CBR - we called four days before we were to arrive and charged the remainder of the bill on our debit card. When we arrived, we were told we still owed that remainder - come to find out, Disney had to credit our debit card for that amount because someone who didn't know Disney's reservation policy screwed up. Needless to say, neither the clerk at the CBR desk nor the person who originally took our debit card information had any idea - a manager/supervisor had to tell the CBR clerk and we had to call the bank and then pay again. I believe that you're due date is the day that you arrive at the hotel but if it makes you feel better, you should contact the hotel directly to confirm - hope this helps!

Tracey,

I spoke with Guest Member Services because I had the same problem. And I was fearful that they would cancel my ressie. But both CM and guest member services assured me the balance was not due to check in.

The reason they claim it says different on your confirmation is because anytime that you use a code for a room only ressie, ithe computer reads it as a package, and packages have different payment schedules. But because it is still a room only then payment isnt due to checkin after you have made the deposit.

I will be checking into POR on the 23rd, and I have kinda of a loud mouth, so if there is a problem then you will be able to hear about it no matter where you are because I will be screaming.

But I spoke to two different CM and guest services and they were all on the same page, you do not have to pay the balance to check in. So I wouldnt worry if I were you.

Thanks for your kind responses. I shall put it out of my mind.

ps re: my original post "Two days has past" Where did I go to school? Make that "Two days have passed" and we're all square.

Tracy...you can relax. :)
First, we don't count off for spelling and grammar! heehee!

Second, Kristy is right. I have been through exactly what you described for my upcoming trip. I've called back twice to verify that I won't lose my reservation and they have assured me that I don't have to pay the rest until checkin. I was nervous as heck that I would arrive late late tomorrow night and have no room! But I expect it will be all magical now. :)

Have a lovely trip!!

That happened to me on my trip in October. I went ahead and called before the due date and charged the remaining balance even though the cast member said I didn't have to pay it until we checked in. Had no problem at check-in. When I got my confirmation on my January trip it did not state that the balance had to be paid by a certain date - don't know what the difference was they were both reservations for room only with the Fl Discount code.
