Confirmed MSEP to stop and move to DL Oct. 9th

So then you are paying over $100 for Hot chocolate (not even an exclusive parade)?
The MVMCP hasn't been a draw for us for years: Hot Chocolate, mediocre treats, a few rides, but the crowds are terrible. Not worth the $$ in our minds.

I don't disagree, but there was also the custom parade. I just can't see them getting rid of that draw.

My money's on #3. I felt like an *** paying what I did for our tickets last year but I still did it. I would DEFINITELY not do over $100 for the party.

I was floored to see the price increase this year. I was on the phone with my mother in law who is from Quebec and she said she wanted to come visit in October. I started spewing off all the awesome things we can do at Disney, one of them was the MNSSHP. I told her it was only about $65 to go and it's a great deal vs paying for a one day ticket. So imagine my embarrassment when tickets were like $80 per person. We still paid because I talked it up and everyone wanted to go, but my husband and I looked at each other and decided that was pretty much our limit. What's the point of paying for entry into MK twice because at this rate party tickets will be the same price as a single day entry.

Sorry for going off topic, but your mnsshp ticket will get you in to MK at 4, so maybe save on the regilar park admission and do something else that morning / early afternoon (Disney Springs, a water park, resort hop on the monorail).

That's what we plan on doing. It's not us that doesn't have access to MK. It's my mother in law. We are planning on Hollywood Studios that morning to ride the E-ticket stuff only and then will go back to our room for a swim and then head over to MK after 4.

BTW, while we've been allowed in at 4 on previous years, there is never a guarantee they're going to let you in at 4.

My point was that MK single day entry is $105. MNSSHP tix are $80. You're saving $25 off the standard day admission, but you only get in for half the time. It's just not quite the great value it used to be two years ago.

I've been thinking all along that the long-term plan is to move Festival of Fantasy to the nighttime parade, or simply run it twice.

I remember watching it for the first time in Frontierland and thinking, "this seems like a parade that was made for nighttime but they're running it during the day to make sure the effects work." The Tangled float, the dragon, the walking performers-- it just FEELS like it would fit perfectly into a nighttime scenario if they added overhead lighting.

RTeetz, if this is in fact the plan, when/how far in advance do you think they'd announce it? Do you think they could be delaying ANY kind of nighttime parade announcement because they don't want another "RoL"-type problem where they have guests expecting entertainment then not being able to deliver?

Possible but nothing is for sure yet. We likely won't see an announcement about FoF if that happens until September or closer to the MSEP end date.

We can rule out Dreamlights. Tokyo announced a new frozen float and several enhancements to existing floats for 2017.

I do have to say - if the day parade and the night parade were the SAME parade - that would pretty much blow.

I know there's a lot of love for Festival of Fantasy, and I admit it's pretty good, but I thought it was rather short and other than the Malificent float while it was a step up from the previous daytime parade, I didn't think it was great or anything.

As I've said elsewhere - not a huge parade guy so I guess it doesn't really matter that much to me, but Paint The Night sets the standards for which nighttime parades should be compared.

Don't know why they didn't put in a Frozen float in the 2015 refurb. I know that they are getting back an enhanced Beauty and the Beast float and other improvements but any idea if any floats are being taken out, unless they're making an already long parade longer(it would probably be too long in my opinion.

Running FoF at night would be bad. But I think FoF is the best daytime parade ever(I'm even including Tokyo). Although in my opinion Dreamlights sets the standard for night parades.

I love the parades but I won't be sad to see them go for a bit. They cause so much congestion.

I have no doubts Disney will replace it with something great.

It will be interesting to see how long the park goes without a nighttime parade. I do think it's safe to say that the earliest will be late spring/summer 2017.

So they've updated the travel agent calendars to reflect that MSEP is no longer running (although I find it interesting they left it on there as MSEP and it just says "none" instead of saying "dark" like it says on the other parks. Also, as of now there are no scheduled runnings of Festival of Fantasy in February.

February is still a ways away I'd expect that to be added back.

I know a lot of you guys do not rate screamscape as a reliable source, but for what its worth, they posted an update this morning suggesting what I already said - that there may not be a replacement or indeed any night parade going forward.

When Fantillusion ended at Paris, everyone assumed there surely would be a replacement after a short break, but so far there is still nothing planned.
