I'm starting a Disney Y.E.S. Youth Group for those who will be at WDW on June 3. If you have kids in grades K-2 (or close to those ages) who like to learn while having fun AND you want to save money on your Disney themepark tickets, sign up!

We need a minimum of 10 students to qualify and attend a class. Also, there can only be one chaperone for every five students during the class, so keep that in mind. If you feel you really NEED to be there with your child/children as a chaperone during the class, please state this in a post so we can take it into consideration when deciding who will be chaperoning. (For example if you have a child with special needs or a child who is very shy, you may feel more comfortable to be with them during the class.)

Our Course (more info on the program website):

How Things Move: Kindergarten — 2nd Grade Discover the principles of how things move. This program helps young learners understand how the physical sciences help power favorite Theme Park attractions.

Tickets

You can purchase VERY DISCOUNTED themepark tickets when taking part in a Disney Y.E.S. program. For every one paying student taking part in a class, one adult may also purchase a discounted Disney Y.E.S themepark ticket at the student price. The ticket choices are 1 park per day, park hoppers, or premium which includes park hopping/water parks/and Disney Quest

Currently we have my DDs who will be in 1st and 2nd grade, along with another DISboarder with kids in K, 1st, and 2nd. Our neighbor is also bringing her 2 children, so we need 3 more to make the required class size of 10. If this sounds like something you and your kids would be interested in, and you'll be at WDW on June 3, feel free to either post here or PM me!

Good Morning,

That link is not working. I have a 2nd grader and a 4th grader and we will be there that day. Please direct me as to where I can get more information.

Thanks.

I'd love to keep in touch with you on this... I have started to consider a trip around this time, but it is not confirmed yet. We're part of a YES group in November, and I would love for my kids to be a part of the program again.

Thanks!

Here is an overview of the YES program:

http://www.disneyyouth.com/youth-education-series/overview/

Here's a brief synopsis of the class for which we're confirmed:

Key Learning Points: The Science of Motion
Students discover that science is what helps us learn how and why things move.
Learn that living and non-living things absorb fuel and change the fuel into a form that they can use for energy.

Different Kinds of Motion
Fantasyland® attractions help illustrate various kinds of movement.
Students investigate the properties of magnetism and its application to transportation.
Students use magnets to discover attraction and repulsion.

Ride Design and Construction
Students discover the challenges of the laws of physics as they construct a ride model of their own design.
At The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm attraction, students are cast into the role of a crop duster pilot and discover how their senses can alter their perceptions.

Feel free to post here or pm me if you are still interested!

Yet another wonderful opportunity for the children. Thanks for putting this together...nothing like experiential learning <3 :goodvibes:goodvibes

Sounds interesting. Do you know who conducts the program? (Disney staff??) Also, are the chaperones all parents of the students? How long are the students in the program that day?

I have three. We will be in WDW on June 3rd.

I have three. We will be in WDW on June 3rd.

A Disney YES castmember conducts the class, and we can have 1 chaperone for every 5 students. Chaperones will be parents. The class runs from 8:15-10:45 (2.5 hours). The kids get to enter the park early in order to go on some of the rides, then they do hands on activities to learn about the science behind the ride. I've never done a class before, but I've heard great things - and my little scientists are very excited to go!! :cheer2:

One last thing - I'd like to order tickets by the end of January, so I want to have participants nailed down by then!

I have two girls 5 and 6 who would like to join in for your dates.
Do you know can you buy additional tickets other than for the chaperones?

I see its been a while since this was posted but was this class ever put together? Thanks!
