Confidence in Oceaneers Moving 'Round?

How did you feel about kids moving around the ships with the Oceaneer counselors???

Also, do they assign particular counselors to each kid?
What's the ratio there? How many kids to one counselor?

The counselors do a GREAT job of moving the kids around. For the younger ones, they line them up and have them sing special songs (really cute) as they move throughout the ship, and they have them keep to the side against one wall. They also sometimes use special corridors that are open only to the kids in the program. The littlest ones have a counselor about every 8 kids or so as they are moving. They are well attended.

I agree they do very good. In fact after the Discover the Magic show that all of the kids did even though all of the parents were there you were not allowed to have your child leave with you. You had to follow the group up to the club and pick them up there.

As far as I know they don't assign a counseler to each child. As for the ratio I don't know an exact number but if I had to guess based on what I saw when my daughter was in there it was about 8 or 10 to 1.

Another thing I find reassuring is that they do a "roll Call" before they leave one area and then do another when they arrive at a new location. This ensures that everyone made to the new location.

They are very strict about not letting people take kids out while they are "in transition". In addition, you can not check a child into or out of the club while they attend movies in the theater.

As for assigning a counselor . Each time your child is checked into the club, he/she will be assigned a counselor and given a color coded "Dot" to be placed on his/her name tag. I am not sure how many kids can be assigned to a counselor at a time.

The counselors do an excellent job keeping track of their charges. DS reported moving through portions of the ship that were "off limits" to passengers in general as they kept the travel distance to a minimum. No hesitations at all.
