Mum's been asking are they able to throw confetti. Would it have to be say rose petals or would biodegradable be ok? We're getting married at Wedding Pavilion.

I have visions of my mums hand luggage with boxes of confetti in it and getting stopped at customs. She is determined to keep some sort of tradition. It's a strange tradition though isn't it - your family and friends taking such pleasure out of pelting you with rice and such.

Talk to your EM...I know Disney has some rules about this because of protecting the different birds and wildlife in the area.

I'm sure they'll let your family throw something, just not sure what that would be! :)

:rotfl: I had never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it, it is pretty strange!

I agree--I thought it was very strange and had out and out vetoed the "staged exit". However, for some reason at the last minute my wp convinced me that I wanted it..and really I am so glad that we did it...it was just one of those "moments" that you replay and that look so gorgeous in pics. We used bubbles as I didn't want to pay the price for rose petals. Disney will get you bubbles for about $2.50 a person...I went to a craft store and bought them at like 27 cents each...

Did the bubbles get in your dress? My gown or the one I am going to order is silk taffeta and I was concerned about it spotting. It does not have any detail on it to hide it.

I was very worried about the spotting issue because a few people mentioned that to me after I had already got them. However, I think that is an old rumor and that now the bubbles are safe...but I don't know...some of the bubbles did hit the trim on my dress and they did not leave marks...
ps--if you happen to look through the buble portions of my pics you'll see a look on my face as I'm looking at my dress worried about that exact thing!!! maybe I'll post it in my log when I get that far;-)

:rose: :rose: The issue here with the bubbles is the type of fabric your dress is made out of. A silk taffeta will most definitely show any and all spots. A satin or beaded lace applique which are both made primarily of polyester or "plastics" won't show any. If you aren't sure about your dress, check the tag! Then opt for the rose petals instead.
