Confetti at reception - worth it?

I am debating whether to do confetti at the end of the reception.

I have seen two professional wedding videos where it looked like a lot of confetti and made for a great shot, raining down on folks.

The other day, I came across an amateur phone video done by one of the DJs (might have been on here, actually.....can't recall) and it looked very different. The confetti was shot from the side and barely made it over anyone's head, and only covered maybe a third of the dance floor.

Can anyone give some input on whether it's worth doing? It's a chunk of change, and if it looks like the video I saw the other day, it doesn't feel worth it, but maybe it was just a bad angle??

My current BEO says it's $675 per cannon at the reception (mine's at the GF, not sure if it varies by location).

We just had the cannon at our reception and I am waiting to see the photos! I thought it would have a bigger impact with our guests, but no one has really mentioned it. I should get my photos from Randy in a month or so. If we got some really great photos, then it was worth it to me. Otherwise, I would have skipped it.

We did not do this and I do not know much about it but I would also think it might have to do with the location of your reception. If you have a very large room with a large dance floor it might not have as much an impact if you are in a smaller location. Our reception was at ADH which is pretty large and I do not think it would have made much of an impact. We were originally looking at Ariels which is much smaller and I think the confetti would cover more of the dance floor there as it is smaller.

Just my thoughts.
