Where are you going to WDW

We are going 9/16-9/22 staying at WL

Okay, no more changing for me. I just booked our flights on SW. I got 4 tix r/t from NY to MCO for $555.20 everything included. The same price I paid last year. I am pretty happy, I think, it means I can't make any more changes.

I am just a little nervous flying on Sept. 11. My desire to spend an extra night in WL outweighed my fear of flying.

We are at the 400th Anniv. of The Jamestown settlement in VA. Wanted to check in to see who changed and where. Ktink. . My heart goes out to you. I still think about AKL a lot. I just don't get the same feelings when I see pictures of WL, not like AKL. I do understand the toss-up between the two resorts. It really is a matter of theming vs. transportation. (for me anyway). Go with your heart, I'm sure you'll be happy either resort.
Mickeyshouse, you should change your week and join us all at WL, or AKL, or wherever we end up. I checked flights today, a lot of flights went down, grab 'em while you can, good luck.

Hey girls. DD 6 and I just got back from watching Spiderman 3. Good movie, BTW.

stepdisney, I know what you mean about the theme and transportation. And it is a toss up between WL and AKL. I just had to take the chance w/ construction. DH says he wants it in writing that I will not change resorts again.

mickeyshouse, yep, I did it again. Like stepdisney said you should change your week and come on down for the party.

Wow. Great price. We see the tickets from our airport and may grab them today. We were hoping for the closer airport but like the price at SW. By the way:

Ktink, I talked to my husband on the drive back from Williamsburg. He had no choice but to listen to my theory on resorts. I think he and my DS are softening to the idea of AKL . Shhh, its a secret. Disneybride where are you .

stepdisney, you won't believe what I've been up to yesterday... well, yeah you'll believe it. DH and I were talking and he told me that he wanted to stay an extra night. You know the night that we gave up in order to stay at AKL. I told him that was more than what I wanted to spend. And he mentioned maybe staying at CBR and then we would have 2 extra days in the park.

I called and was quoted $304 less at CBR w/ an extra night and 2 extra days worth of hoppers. Well DH and I went fishing and talked about it. I feel kind of bad because I've been so busy trying to arrange the perfect vacation and I've found out I'm the only one that's hard to please.


Also good luck on making up your mind. Boy, they just might block our calls to CRO.

You all won't believe this but we just cancelled AKL and we have booked All Star Music. Don't ask me how this happened but we all sat down and DH and DDs, even the snooty one , wanted to stay there. So we will be getting a refund check from Disney for around $700 bucks and we'll be staying a day longer and enjoying all WDW has to offer.

I've become a victim of making the kids happy on Mother's Day. No seriously, the girls and DH were talking about Pop which was our first stay and how much they loved the bigger than life stuff. All in all I think it'll be great. We make a habit of pampering ourselves pretty much on a daily basis so it'll be nice to enjoy pure Disney magic!

Bravo! Sounds like everyone is happy. I'm not so sure if your mind is completely made up though, your signature still says AKL....hmmm. . The good part is you still have time. (Longer stays are the best ).

I was very happy, the difference in days saved us about $130. Now, here is the tricky part. I called WL to add another day because it would give us free dining for another day. They don't have the room that day! She said I could book another room but as a "room only". This doesn't make sense because we wouldn't get the dining and the savings for the flight would be swallowed up. We would rather book a room at pop for the first night and move to the WL the next night. That way we would get there a day early and still save money (although by the time we eat, it will not be much of a savings). I would rather have another day than to pay the extra $130 for the flight and have the same amount of time at Disney. What would you do?

So.....what do I do? I called CRO and asked if AKL was available with a standard room for the entire length of our trip and they said yes. Now what? Should I change to AKL with free dining OR stay at Pop the first night and WL the rest of our stay?

Come on Resort Changers.... I need your help.

Stepdisney - I would change to AKL. With so many people cancelling their ressies, you may even be upgraded. If not, the std. rooms on Ostrich trail are great! One of our favorite resorts.

Do you think we would have more of a chance of being near noisy construction by booking a standard (just in case we don't get an upgrade)? I really love the resort theme and photos and would hate to spoil our first trip to AKL with views of cranes and construction work. However, it may be the chance of a lifetime, as you mention, because there are people cancelling.

My name is Diana and I have stayed away from disboards so I wont be tempted to change my resort.......lol..
Just kidding, I am staying..

However, I see someone has changed...we must now crown you the Queen of the Resort Changers!
You know, I would be happy anywhere at WDW! Its just they give us too many choices, options etc!
ktink....you heart was in it for the longest vaca...you made a great choice!

Apparently everything is booked while I am at WDW *sigh* I am staying at All Star Movies Aug. 29-Sept. 3. We decided to add an extra day & get there early August 28th! We can't switch resorts to All Star Music, Pop, Port Orleans, Sports...or just add a day to ASM. They said everything is booked *sigh* for the Value or cheaper rooms @ the moderate resorts. I really wanted to add that extra day.

I don't think you will see or hear any construction noise in the std. rooms. They are located on Ostrich & Giraffe Trails and face the front of the resort. You may if you are upgraded. I understand you can hear noise during the day on Zebra Trail, but I don't think you can see any construction going on. Maybe way off in the distance if you are on the other side. Anyone know?

If you decide to switch to AKL, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am really going to need it now because....I got a call from Disney. They found us a room at WL for the extra night. Now what do I do? Whoa is me, Whoa is me.

Send an email. When I could not add a day, I sent an email to customer relations on the disney site. This was yesterday afternoon and I got the call today. I almost had a heart attack because I thought they were calling me to tell me that I won something. This very very nice CM named Jonathan called me and I just got off of the phone with him. Though the CRO cannot add an additional day with free dining, he could. Here's hoping you have the same luck.

He was so great. I even explained my DS (6) special needs to him and he had really great suggestions for us to do ahead of time to make our vacation perfect. I feel terrible thinking about switching now since he went through all of that trouble adding an extra night for us. He did ask why we chose WL. Curious to know why he asked that . It made me want to say, "Why did you ask me this?" And then I wanted to ask him if I should change to AKL, but I could not drag him into my disfunctional state of indecision.

stepdisney, I wish you luck. I know how you really like AKL but I know you like WL too. And I was in your shoes just a few days ago. Imagine that, ktink and a resort dillema. good luck and you'll make the right decision.

Diana, where have you been? Welcome back!

Ok girls, things have been really hectic and work and all of the other functions we have going on. And last night our hot water heater busted! But I have some good news.... I got some very good news in reference to my job today and I'm thinking of celebrating by upgrading to a mod.

I told DH that we didn't need to be such tight wads because we can't take it w/ us. But I'm not giving up the extra night and park time so no AKL for me. But when it came down to it, I really don't think I would mind staying at ASMu. But I feel like celebrating so why not.

I'm only thinking about it.

Book POFQ, Ktink. Please let me know where you started originally. I can't wait to see how it all turns out . I think you will end up at Poly for 7 nights, concierge floor. I wish my DH would say we can't take it with us instead of "what's the matter with you, our last name is not Trump." I did manage to find great airfare at $475 RT for all four of us!!! We had budgeted more for air and so when it meant we had to arrive a day earlier or a day later to get the price, he said yes to an additional night. This is unbelievable. (I'm still thinking about AKL) . I read a great post about not hearing any noise at all or see any construction. I asked again tonight and DS and DH both said "Next time." santa: ) They don't know it yet but I'm dreamin of a Disney Christmas.
