airtime said:I'll try to help, but I need to be up front with these disclaimers: (1) I am a major coaster geek (see avatar!) (2) I usually stay off-site at WDW. (3) I am an expert primarily on January in Orlando, and not peak seasons. (4) I have not visited WDW since January 2004.
Wow! Thanks for all the tips! You really took the time to answer a lot of my questions, and I appreciate it so much!!
June 11 - all sounds good except for one thing: evenings can be quite good at MK, and there is EMH that evening that goes until 2 am.
Didn't realize there were late hours that night. Maybe we will explore! See, I knew I bought that extra day of passes for a reason!
June 12 - this sounds good, although I would encourage you to be adventurous about the Disney coasters. If you've tried them and don't like them, hey, you know better than me!
Oh, I like them fine, so does dh. DD will probably like them, though she was too little last time. Just want to spend some time getting ds acclimated. He can be a mouse or a superhero, and it just depends on whether he decides to be scared. So we thought we'd skip it the first day and build up his confidence.
Also, POTC will be closed - sorry!
GASP! Please, say it isn't so!!!

Last thing on this day: you got the naps in. Don't be afraid of keeping your kids at the park until closing. Mine handled power trips to WDW and DL at very young ages with late nights with no problem (so long as they got their naps!) The late night park time can be great for avoiding crowds, and can be very magical.
Hmmm.... sounds scary. And yet... intriguing.
M:S is an intense spinning ride, and if you have serious motion sickness problems, you should probably avoid it. However, I think anyone who doesn't have that kind of problem should not miss it.
Well then. I should DEFINITELY miss it. Unless these other friendly people going that week like *ahem* messed up shoes.
I also think you are too worried about the effect TT will have on you. There's really nothing there that will induce motion sickness. The kids will love TT - I would be shocked if they didn't.
Everyone seems to be saying that. I may have to read about it again.
You should be able to fit everything in. Door to door will take some time - I would allow an hour one way. Nevertheless, in by 9 am, out by 1 pm, 3 hour nap, back by 5 pm should work OK, although Epcot will be busy in the afternoon because of evening EMH. You should use that to your advantage, perhaps enjoying some Future World attractions in the evening.
Thank you! That's very valuable info! Since we plan to stroll the World Showcase in the afternoon and early evening, hopefully crowds won't be much of an issue.
Morning EMH today at AK, so you'll want to arrive an hour earlier than you planned. KRR won't be open yet when you get there unless the wait for the safari is incredibly long (that could happen, since only it and ITTBAB will be open among the major attractions). Your kids should love Dinosaur. Just make sure they understand that a lot of the ride is in the dark. My kids never had a problem here. Also, even if you don't ride KRR, you should check out its queueing area. It's very cool.
Again, fabulous info! You're very helpful!
Also, just my two cents again: I think you should try EE. This promises to be an incredible ride. Again, you know your own limits, but setting aside fear for these things can make your vacation more memorable than you can possibly imagine.
If I think DS is up to it by then, maybe we'll add it in. But won't passing up EE help with the line for the safari? (More people running there than running to the safari?)
More and more I think I'm the wrong one to give advice. If you have motion sickness problems, I would think Star Tours would be one to worry about.
Oddly, I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt, no tummy troubles. Doesn't phase me. My motion nausea is mostly really fast spinning (no teacups on my list, thank you very much), or driving. Just in the car. Boats and planes don't do it. Which is why I thought no Test Track - it's a car, and no Mission:Space - it's spinny. Maybe I'm off my nut on the test track thing. Don't think I am on M:S, though. Or I might be chicken.
RnRC is a very intense coaster - definitely the most intense at WDW - and isn't for those with weak backs especially. ToT is a huge mistake to miss, IMO. The visual effects are incredible, and the drops are not nearly as scary as your mind makes them because of the incredibly well-done theming. ToT is one of the best theme park attractions in the world. I would be darn sure that I wasn't up to it before passing on it. Again, you know better than I do of your capabilities.
Hmmm... Sounds like RnRC may be too wild for a six year old (and he might not even make height for it? Not sure...) and trust me on the elevator thing. I've been thinking of trying ToT, but if I so much as bring it up, I get shrieks and refusals. From dh. Yes, he shrieks. But don't tell him I said so.
They should be glad to hold your luggage for you.
Phew! I'd hate to drive back with the dvd player not functioning.
Sounds like a great trip. It looks like you have tried to use restraint in your planning, keeping from trying to pack to much into too little time. In terms of that, I commend your choice of napping in the afternoon. This will both help to avoid crowds and keep you fresh. I would use that extra rest to stretch more into the evening hours. The later you go, the lighter it gets.
Thanks!! You've been an awesome help!
