Hi Everyone. I'm a very experienced Walt Disney World visitor, usually renting DVC points to stay at WDW when I go. My favorite is the Wilderness Lodge. I'm also an annual pass holder.

I have a conference that my employer is paying for 10/4 - 10/9 at Disneyland. The problem is, I know NOTHING about Disneyland. The conference hotel, which I'm booked at (but this can change if needed), is the Disneyland Hotel. I can't take my family on this trip due to scheduling issues, so it's just me.

What kind of advice can you give me on the hotel, upcoming possible discounts, park admission and prices, would a package be a better deal if I'm wanting to go the parks every evening. Currently my conference rate at the Disneyland hotel is $174.00 per night. Is there a DVC equivalent at Disneyland that I can rent points from?

Jeez, I have so many questions... H e L p!

Thanks,
Jonnygib

I am attending a conference later this month. Our conference offered a special conference ticket that was a good discounted option for attending after 4:00 PM each evening of the conference. I opted to arrive a few days before the conference and purchase the 5 day hopper (conference special) which was a few $$ less than the Disney 3 for 5 day hopper.

If you like WL, you might enjoy staying at the Grand Californian Hotel, which was designed by the same architect. If you have a conference rate there, it will probably be more expensive than at DLH. If you need to travel between the GC and DLH, it is about a 10 minute walk thru Downtown Disney.

The new GC DVC Villas are scheduled to open in late September, so renting points might be an option. A studio will cost you 17 points per night for any night other than Fr or Sat. There are probably only 23 studios, so they will likely fill up quickly and may indeed no longer be available. Make sure your employer will reimburse you for your costs if you do a private transaction to rent points.

Enjoy -- Suzanne
