Hi all, could anyone offer any advice on condo resorts , we have stayed in hotels and then the last visit we made we stayed in a villa as there was 9 of us. Next august there will only be 4 of us again but liked the flexibility of a villa , so my thoughts were to look at the condos but my head is now in a real spin. Any experience would be welcome

There are 3 of us and we have stayed in a 2br condo at Sheraton Vistana, also (and a bit cheaper) a 3br townhouse both at Windsor Hills and Emerald Island. I like the extra space, my DD prefers hotels, so sometimes we do a split say.

This year we will be in a condo at WH for the first time, but I went for a top floor one to cut down on any noise from above as I am a light sleeper :)

You should be able to find something without a problem but it depends if you want a resort feel or not as to where you stay. A fellow Diser stats at WBC and really likes it there, so that is another alternative to look at.

We have also stayed in a condo at Windsor Hills, nothing wrong with it but its not our kind of holiday. We much prefer a hotel around LBV area. Although WH is not far away we still found it a lot of travelling compared to LBV.
In a villa\condo we just find keeping it tidy, making bed, emptying bins etc is like being home from home where in a hotel we fully relax and feel like we are on holiday being looked after.
If you know you like a villa/condo style holiday then go for it.

For us definitely a condo, id rather a condo than a villa, whilst we love staying in disney we could never spend our whole holiday there so usually do a split between disney and a condo.

Our fav places are silverlake and mystic dunes, they are timeshare resorts and we usually get great deals.

We much prefer a condo over a hotel and we stay in the LBV area too. We have stayed 3 times at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas and Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa. Cypress Pointe is closest to Downtown Disney but no longer offer the 3 bedroomed option and with 6 of us going and I'd prefer a bedroom over using a sleeper sofa in the lounge for privacy, as daughter's boyfriend (possibly fiancé, by the time we go) is coming too, will be staying at LBV Resort Village & Spa next year.
I find a hotel room too cluttered and compact, although we loved our stay at the Beach Club this year.

Thanks everyone, it's the trip advisor reports that freak me out and therefore it's good to have experiences you can trust off here, the main difficulty we have with hotel rooms Wayne is the two queen bed situation, given that we have a 16 yr old son and 13 yr old daughter !

Only having 1 Son makes it easy for us in a hotel room, or this trip just the 2 of us:goodvibes
I don't take a lot of notice on TA, people tend to post only when they have a bad experience, sometimes make it up, or I find they expect too much.

We've stayed in 2 condos Floridays in 2011 and Bahama bay 2012.

Personally for the price I don't think Bahama bay is a bad option at all.

It wasn't too far out for us - shortcut gets you on 192 in mins - lots of dining nearby.
