We have narrowed our off-site stay for 7 nights to two places at Windsor Hills.

Condo- 3 bdrm 2 bath enough space for Me, DH, DD 20, DS 18, DS6. 2 bdrm have king beds, and one has 2 twins, kitchen, living room, laundry. All the basics for $676 including taxes! $1858 less than Disneys AoA family suite!

House- 4 bdrm all with 4 on-suite bathrooms! Large living room, kitchen, dining room, and a huge lanai that extends out onto a large pool and spa all screened in (pool is huge) Glass doors that open up to the lanai to the living room, and the master bedroom has sliding glass doors onto the pool? The houses total cost is $1195 (Also has a game room in the garage, pool table, ping pong, etc!) $1339 less than staying at disney AoA family suite!

Both have the same amount down, and I have plenty of time to pay the remainder (May 2013)

So the difference is $519 and more space, each member would have their own room and bathroom and we would have our own pool and spa.

Both of them give us access to the resort pool, water slides, hot tubs, playgrounds, etc

So which would you rent? Condo or Whole house? :confused3

P.S I don't exactly have a plan on park days, and we sometimes go back to our room mid day to swim and other days we stay all day! This is our fourth trip in 4 yrs, so we have seen a lot of Disney, and don't feel like we have to see it all!

Thanks for your thoughts!

We've done both and since we don't spend a lot of time at the condo/house/hotel, I'd save the $ and go for the condo. I look at it as having more $ to spend other things like shopping! Even when grandma came along and we stayed in a 3BR/2BA condo, we still didn't have any trouble getting ready in the morning with the 5 of us. Whatever you decide, have a great trip.

I'd go with the house. We've rented a house at least four times and our kids, young teen and 11 year old first time to late teens last time, have loved the pool and game room tremendously.

we stay at 2 or 3 BR very nice condos all the time--and they are great. But, once we got a 3 BR house with it's own small pool and hot tub---WOW, that was really super special--esp. if you want to hop in the pool late at night after a long day in the parks, or have a quick swim before dinner. I would get the pool house.

What month did you rent the pool house? Did you need to pay extra to heat the pool and spa? We are going May 9-16 not sure if we will need to pay for heat?

We always do the house every time! Love it. We never go to a park every day though and spend plenty of time just hanging around our own pool.

We did a house the year before and a condo this year. Everyone said they missed the pool at the house and to do a house with a pool next year, so my vote is for the house!

There are townhouses at WH that have their own private small pool that probably fall in between the two prices you listed.

We've stayed in them a couple of times (early June) for roughly $600. I think in later June the cost goes up a couple hundred $$.

They have had 3 BR -- 2 w/Kings and 1 with twins. All the have bathrooms attached.

Below is the site we got them from....

I'd go for the house... But that's just me...
I've tried a house at Formosa Gardens, and then an end unit townhouse at WH..

We prefer the extra space and the bigger pool..

So next time it will be a house again :)

I think the Townhouses at Windsor Hills with pools are mostly those little splash pools.

My family would want the Hot Tub at a minimum.

I notice that your kids are kind of age separated like ours --- older and then one much younger. Our younger child made great use out of the pool. There is nothing nicer than being able to get up in the morning and fix your breakfast and coffee and eat it out by the pool while the kid splashes around and isn't bugging you to wake everybody else up to get going to do something fun.

The older kids pretty much commandeered the game room late into the night while we were all sleeping.

I am usually about saving money, but based on the ages of your kids, I would go for the house. Your older kids will LOVE you for giving them their own space. In the condo, someone would have to room with someone else. My oldest son was able to get a bedroom/bathroom all to himself on our last trip and he was in heaven.

We always rent a house now because we love not having to pack up all our stuff to head to the pool. The kids spend hours in the pool and I can see them swimming out the sliding glass doors in the kitchen while I am preparing a meal or a snack.

Either way, I don't think that you can go wrong with your choice. I think you will love the room of an off site condo or house.

We've been to Disney three times. First two times were in a 2 bedroom condo and this last time a 4 bed 3bath house...I would NEVER stay anywhere but this house!!! It was so spacious. It was so nice to come home from the parks and go swimming by ourselves.

For the ages you have I would go for the house with private pool and private baths with game rooms. Since you've been to the parks before you can enjoy some nice family time at the house in between park visits.
