We're renting a condo in Windsor Hills toward the end of April. The contract I signed and faxed in authorized the management company to charge my credit card for the balance due 30 days before our first night. 30 days came and went with no charge, now we're at 20 days out and they still haven't even authorized the amount against my American Express.

Is this normal? I did email them, and they said that they'd charge it in the morning, but it just seems *wierd* that they wouldn't charge the balance on the 30th day, or within a few days. Now I'm a nutcase worrying that something is fishy...

Someone just tell me this is normal business practice.

Hello, just make sure you are booked and have a room..."normal" business practices in these huge management companies is a little inconsistant, but should not be a problem as long as YOU HAVE A CONFIRMED RESERVATION.
I would call Windsor Hills direct and make sure you are confirmed by the company you worked with...another good example of why dealing direct with the owners can be less hassle than a big management company.

Good Luck...Ted

I booked through the owner, the management company is just handling the paperwork/credit card charges. I do know which unit I'm staying in and I do have a confirmation - it just feels strange.

Thanks though. :)

I actually don't think this is that out of the ordinary. I am sure the charge will go through shortly. The 30 days I'm sure was just a guideline. I'd try to relax about it.

I just wanted to say HI to Dawn - looks like we will be at Windsor Hills at the same time. April 28-May 7. Have a great time!

HOWDY neighbors. What a small, small world. We will be in a townhome, supposedly less than 1 minute walk to the big pool.

It's getting close!

Ok, I'm just paranoid and delusional. ;) I think I spent too long writing software programs that processed credit cards. 30 days to me means 30 days, not 31 days, not 29 days, 30 days - preferably shortly after midnight! Heck, in some implementations it means 720 hours. :> Yeah, I know, I'm a geek who thinks everyone else is too.

Deep breaths, close my eyes... Disney computers are held together with chewing gum too, Disney computers are held together with chewing gum too...Ok, I feel better now!

*bounce* I can't wait - 18 more days until we are camped out in front of Mickey's gates. I can live in my car if I have to! ;)

Don't worry Dawn I'm flippin out too. Even though I have about 6 emails stating that we are in a 1st floor unit, building 8, closest to the pool; I fully expect to be told when we arrive that we are 4th floor and nowhere near the pool. I've printed out a copy of one of the emails to take with me but now I'm starting to think I should pack all 6! New situations can breed paranoia. :grouphug:
