I like snacking on pickles and can have all the Claussen dills I want. I was so happy to find a sugar-free brand of bread and butter pickles (uses Splenda sweetener) - Mt. Olive. It is made in NC, so I don't know if it's only available locally (I get them at Kroger's in Raleigh).
I do not like the taste of reduced fat sour cream (can't do fat free), but tried mixing it with taco seasoning the last time I made taco salad and really like it. It has given me the idea to try other seasonings. I found a recipe on the container that my DH likes to dip his mushrooms in.
Zesty Italian Dip
16 oz sour cream (I use reduced fat)
1 envelope Zesty Italian salad dressing mix
8 1/2 oz drained and chopped artichoke hearts
chill
I just made this one today:
1 cucumber seeded and chunked
1/2 large red onion
salt and pepper to taste
coat with red wine vinegar
few splashes of lemon juice
palm of Splenda
I think I will let it marinate for awhile and then drain off the excess red wine vinegar.
I have also perfected the mayo to Miracle Whip recipe to my taste using recuded fat mayo (thank you to the person who posted this - I forgot who you are
) Now I am having tuna with onions on celery and my favorite deviled eggs!!
I don't know if all these suggests are WW safe, although I think they are Atkins safe as they are low carb and I choose to use low fat items as well.
BTW, my favorite Atkins snack (which has too much fat for me now) was spicy pork rinds dipped in Kraft hot and spicy mayo. I also loved that stuff on Italian sausage!! Oh, I am missing the Atkins diet now
.
Dinner tonight - Taco salad
prepackaged shredded lettuce
brown exta lean ground beef with onions
fat free shredded cheddar
reduced fat sour cream mixed with taco seasoning
couple spoons of thick and chunky salsa
