It has been reported that the WDW Cast have been informed that the Concourse Steakhouse is scheduled for its last day of operation on May 10th, 2008. It has also been reported that the location is scheduled to be closed for renovations May 11 - August 14, 2008 for its transformation to Chef Mickey's Express. It's being assumed that The Wave will open on May 11th but this date has not been comfirmed by Disney.

thank you for posting this. Now I may consider it for April. After 5 years, I still LOVE this site!!

I hope the new restaurant on the first floor (rumored to be called "THE WAVE") will be just a transplanted Concourse Steak House. Concourse is one of our favs - DH and kids prefer it over LeCellier!! We still go to LeCellier and Concourse every trip, and we will miss the Concourse. Even if the new place is good, it still won't have the ambience (monorail passing, the whole atmosphere and openness above, a nice restaurant but with a family friendliness), but I truly hope the new place has the wonderful food and service we have grown to love.

Every rumour posted about the Waive is that their menu will be an Asian theme.

I don't put much stock in rumours these days - I will wait and see what the menu will be....:goodvibes
Well with the expection of the dates changing for during the previous renovations to the Contemporary, everything that was listed eventually happened. The arcade moving to the 4th floor replacing the Fantasia store, the Food & Fun Center eventually closing, the Concourse Steakhouse closing and moving to the 1st floor as the Waive, Chef Mickey's Express eventually opening where the Concourse Steakhouse use to be and the new store opening on the 4th floor. So what I am saying is this is one expection where all the rumours listed on here have become true.

As CR Fan has stated, its fairly much known that The Wave will feature an asian fusion type menu (I have no idea what this includes!). Given that all the rumors regarding the Contemporary's rehab have fairly much come to fruition, this rumor most likely is accurate. Reportedly The Wave will operate much like Concourse Steakhouse, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Last December I was told by a Cast Member who works on the 4th floor and had remembered me from my previous stays there, told me about the arcade was eventually moving to where the Fantasia store is. This was before the renovation schedule was posted by crazy4wdw and when a lot of people were saying I will believe it when I read it or see it myself. Obviously we all know that rumour became true, so that is why I am going to believe the rumour about the Waive being a different menu then what the Concourse Steakhouse had offered.

So does this mean no more Stickey Mickeys?? OMG:scared1:
I think no one knows how their breakfast menu would be, that is assmuming they are still going to serve breakfast. So they might keep some items, or they might have a brand new menu all together. So we will have to wait and see. The only thing we know that the concept of the dinner menu would be an Asian inspired theme.

(Insert YUK smiley here)...We love the Concourse SH and will miss it when it is gone!
:sad1:

Any word on the Outer Rim? Will that be staying the same? Thanks crazy4wdw and CR Fan for keeping us updated.

All I know for certain is that in the construction permit that Disney filed with Orange County about a month ago, a lounge was included for the construction/renovation of the space occupied by Food & Fun Center. Whether this means the end for the Outer Rim is anyone's guess at this time.
