I've made a reservation at Concourse Steakhouse for my May trip. Part of the reason I did so was its closing in May and I wanted to see it for the first and last time. Change must come but it still makes me kind of sad. Anybody have any memories they want to share about this restaurant?

We were there last September & my oldest son (13 at the time) LOVED LOVED LOVED the butterfinger cheesecake!!!!!!! He was actually bummed when he found out they were closing---he wanted to eat there again this year!

we were there 2 years ago yesterday...on our wedding day!! we had lunch there and they made a huge fuss..it was very nice:love: :cloud9: they couldn't believe how calm we were....the only reason they noticed was b/c my shirt had cinderella and prince charming as bride and groom w/the date and it said "Mike and Linda's happily ever after April 27, 2006" and they were like...that is ...TODAY:rotfl2: we got married at sunset and it was incredible!!! great memories for our wedding day!

We had an interesting service at the Concourse one time which my DH loves telling others about. I just remember being happy we weren't in a hurry that night!

The cm assigned to our section was a very friendly sort, but a tad bit too friendly! He loved to talk - not to the guests but other cms! And he was chasing after every cm skirt in the place! He'd help them get drinks for their tables, make their desserts for them - it was so sad to watch! :rotfl:

Well we are easy-going most of the time and not in a hurry so we considered it a show to watch! But an older couple in our section was not so kind. Their drinks hadn't been refilled (alcoholic) and they were waiting for their dinner plates to be removed. A lot of us were just waiting for our bill. But they had enough and insisted on talking to the General Manager of the Contemporary - not the Food and Beverage Manager on duty! They insisted to the point that the General Manager actually showed up at 9:30 pm! (That totally impressed me btw).

Within a few minutes, the GM had spoken to the F&B Mgr and the cm. Then the cm started running his tail off and threw, yes, threw bills at everyone including this couple. The gentlemen stood up and said to the cm - we were planning on ordering dessert. We were cracking up!

My family so loves the Concourse Steakhouse and we have enjoyed many meals there. Our favorite was rushing over there for breakfast after my daughter ran past us in MK during the Marathon and then catching up with her in Epcot for the big finish. She finally was able to join us for breakfast two yrs. ago after she and sister finished the Race for the Taste (5K) at Epcot. I'm glad we were able to enjoy this tradition all together at least once. Marie

In December 2004 at the very last second and I mean the very last second my Dad said to me let's go to eat at the Concourse Steakhouse for dinner and we did not have any ADR's, so we went as walk-ins. Since we were staying at the Contemporary we did not have far to go so if we had to wait a while not such a big deal. Anyway the Cast Member at the check-in said it would be about a 20-25 minute wait, so we get our pager and decided to check on something in our room. Just as we walked into our room our pager is going off so we rush right back down so we could be seated. Basically my memory is getting the table that fast since we thought the wait would have been a lot longer then that.

DH and I ate there on Valentine's Day a few years ago. I was pregnant at the time so we had one of the first seating times (I couldn't stay awake past 7 or 8pm - even at WDW!) so the atmosphere was distinctly UN-romantic. It wasn't the best dinner I ever had, but it will always be a special place to me.

We always went to the CS every trip. On our last trip (last month), we celebrated our anniversary dinner at CS. Our CM, a wonderful Vietnamese man named Ali, brought us champagne (including a flute of sparkling cider for our DD) and, even though we said we were full, he brought us a complementary anniversary dessert as well (we managed to choke it down:) ). During dinner, they took a souvenir photo, which we had forgotten about by the time the meal was over. We paid, then did a little shopping. About 10 minutes later, Ali came running into the shop with our souvenir photo -- have no idea how he knew we were there -- and we didn't even have to pay for the pix!

We'll miss that place :(

I have an interesting Concourse memory! We had dinner there on Christmas Eve, 2006. I ordered a steak that came with mashed potatoes. After eating about half of the potatoes, I noticed something black sticking out of them. I extracted the item and noticed it looked suspiciously like a big, black bug! I even tried to wash it off to get a better look at it. The next time the waiter came by, I showed it to him and he took it to the kitchen. Next thing I know, the manager is at our table apolozing profusely and asking if I'd like another side dish. I asked if it was, in fact, a bug? She said, "No, it was the black eye of the potato." Huh? I've never seen anything like that on a potato before. I'm pretty sure it was a bug. But, I just stopped eating the potatoes and didn't worry about it. Afterall, it was Christmas Eve and I was at Disneyworld!
